PLEASE add a option to move broken drones.
So I had this situation when there was a long, narrow room with tons of scrap. I picked up scrap on one side of the room, but there was even more on the other side, but a drone was blocking the way. I couldn't drive around it, all the doors I could use to go around it were disabled and I couldn't find the generator that would power them (actually I was too scared lol) and I couldn't tow it out of the way because it was completely destroyed (gray).

It was honestly a slap to the face from the game.

Please add a option to tow gray drones out of the way and also take them to the ship for small amouts of scrap.

+1

Sounds only sensible to me.

Thanks. We considered different ideas for a few months but, in the end, we do like having some drones you just can't tow. Other options we had considered including allowing them to be blown up, etc, by like a trap upgrade but that, too, had to go on the "maybe one day" list. I know there can be cases where it's a bummer (scrap so close...yet so far), but we see it as more "grit" to the ships (having blocked passages) and part of the gameplay.

HOWEVER, there's a setting under difficulty you can use to turn off hallway blocking (called "small rooms"). That should solve the issue for you in the future (minus free scrap ;) ) See Difficulty Options.

Thanks!

I'd say the in universe reason you can't tow them is becuase they are completly destroyed. If I recall the drones actually hover above the floor. So if one isn't hovering (I.E) destroyed then it wouldn't be possible to tow.

Or... what about allowing tow drones to push objects? I keep finding myself instinctually wanting to do this.

Perhaps yet a further potential use there for 'pry' mode maybe. You could perhaps use the pry command on the destroyed drone's name (once you have got that information) to move the dead drone a short step directly away from your drone fitted with pry - so completing the room or passage clearance over several repeated steps. The further it has to be moved, the longer this all takes so making it both an on-delelict time-waster and risk-increase. Your call!

Also there is the chance that you could end up blocking a critical door in another emergency if you don't think it all through. Prying a dead drone all the way back to your own ship would have to be a *very* ambitious and unlikely undertaking though.

You don't by chance also find yourself wanting to strap 30 or so drones together so you can push them up and down winding hallways do you?
