You're drone's video signal may fail more if you hang out for a very long time. Off the top of my head I think it wears based on missions, and then triggers over time.
TL;DR: it doesn't matter a whole lot, but possibly a little :)
This concerns me a lot as I have been really enjoying this game. However I like to take my time on a deralict but I'm noticing a few problems:
1. On my very first deralict all my drones have video problems already.
2. Deralict "close" controls seem to be guarenteed to break down unless I'm rushing.
3. The sense of time in this seems really accelerated. I mean, how can 5-15 minutes of real time on a deralict constitute the fact that all my drones are breaking down, all my ship components are worn out and every upgrade on every device needs to be reparied now?
4. Slightly unrelated, but the console aliases are not powerful enough to expedite my method. If I'm supposed to be rushing, the console commands are too clunky and the aliases are too weak to be able to make any powerful logic solutions which can cut down on wasted time, increasing the time I have to explore and immerse myself.
I really like the premise of duskers, I actually have a lot of fun with this game, but it feels like it's rushing me WAY too much. If I wanted to play a fast RTS I'd play something like Star Craft or some such. I was hoping this would be a very slow paced, methodical horror experience. Was I mistaken?
In the run before the one mentioned in that post I had a pipe burst, airlock failure, asteroid impact and "close" failure all on the same derelict.
On the mission right after t he asteroid impact I had a "close" failure, airlock failure, strategic video failure and pipe burst.
Ultimately I had no scrap because of constant repairs and every ship I tried to commandeer was flooded with radiation, I ran out of fuel looking for a new one and had to start over which brought me to the subject post.
