When slime comes I just roll my eyes and exit the ship. Just stupid. No clear way to fight back or win such a random difficulty spike I agree it's completly retarded.
But why? For me it's quite nice balanced. Slime just requires another approach to be dealt with, compared to "attacking" ones. Sure it's quite problematic if there is no other airlocks to vent. And you simply don't prepeared to facing such enemy. But if you have just sonic - it's quite enought and possible to hold on even small room with slime under control for nearly 10 minutes.
ok but sonic doesn't help if you can't even get into the room, because sonic is not designed well, and only works in a room. You can be 50 feet from something in the same room and sonic works, but 1 foot from something across a door and it doesn't. Turret is useless on slime, walls and doors are useless, you cannot detect it quickly without being irresponsibly fast in exploration to make it... it's just out of place in this game... any other threat, if i get hit or cant access an area, i know why. but slime, when i see it, i just sigh, its not fun... plus we've all seen it appear literally in the middle of the airlock on a ship with only one airlock, forcing you to literally just suicide across it with all your drones... It's not designed well, it's not balanced well
