What is "Greg" mode?
I've seen it as one of the options and I want to know what it is or what its purpose is.

Extra-Hard mode.

Comes from Minecraft modding. GregoriusT and his mod Gregtech, which is infamous for making things hard/tedious :P

Got it. Hopefully I won't die my first night on the easiest mode (the ship's gear never spawned before the new survival update so I always died).

Greg mode adds nothing to the game, you are not missing out by playing on Easy. Greg mode only affects the early game, and makes it significantly longer for no benefit. Some people like it, but I never play on anything but "easy" as all that means is that the beginning takes 5 years instead of 20.

Greg mode generally affects the amount of ore needed to craft a bar of that material. I might get this wrong and someone correct me if needed but...

Easy mode = 8 units of ore per bar (8 tin ore = 1 bar of tin)
Hard mode = 16 units of ore per bar
Greg mode = 24 units of ore per bar

I suppose the comment was meant as: "once you are past early game with automated production, you'll be swimming in thousands of bars anyway, so it doesn't matter too much"

Last time i played it is 25 unless it got changed.

Pretty sure it is multiples of 8, that makes the most sense and easiest to code.
