About ARTHUR and his upgrades
Do they work yet? And if so what needs to be done to install them? Or is it automatic upon crafting?

Yep, they all work. As soon as you have crafted one, it is installed. There may be some interaction required in the future, but for now it's really simple.

i beleive they apply on their own once crafted, they seemed to when i crafted mine, unless i forgot i did something else lol ..i'm getting old u know,. (edit: confirmed above by Korenn as i was typing ..must type quicker lol, i love the FCE devs they are so efficient and reply fast and always help :-) )

but when you craft an ore extractor drill bit upgrade you have to point at an extractor you want to apply the upgrade to and press R to upgrade it,., i remember that..as i was stumped for a while having the upgraded drill bit crafted and not knowing what to do to upgrade an extractor.

i must say though that this survival mode is holding up my creative builds due to keep playing survival a lot lol. Gets very addictive as i always want more ore and more machines and more power and everything,.,.give me more!!! lol :techy:

just incase youve not read it theres a really helpful survival guide here

Yeah I knew about the drill upgrades (hit r by accident trying to grapple away from a ninja camo bot).
And thanks for the confirmation Korenn, can't wait for a way to deal with my friendly neighborhood camo bots though. Dumping them in holes and burying them gets expensive.

Also, once you've purchased ARTHER's upgrades they make a visual change to him. The power core stops him from flailing around and lighting on fire, the battery core adds a blue glowing bar on his head, and the solar panels pop out during the day if you have the solar panel upgrade.

your guide is awesome steve i found it very helpful.

for some reason i crafted 11 power cores for Arther when i started trying to get him stop burning into flames,.guess i over did it a bit lol :)

I haven't been paying much attention to him honestly considering I was literally surrounded by camo bots (were you trying for the Weeping Angel vibe guys? you succeeded nicely) when I stopped playing for the night ~30 minutes ago. Still having loads of fun trying to locate some iron and lithium. I tried pinging for spaces and got an immediate response on a near 360 degree arc around me, pinging for unknown block types isn't giving a response so plainly out of range, and the only minerals in range are my sole sources of tin, coal, and copper anyway.

I'm wondering though why you only require one cylinder as Ramans do everything in 3s.

Oh you just wait until the next patch...

Iron is found pretty deep down, and Lithium REALLY deep. Personally, I like to search for a big cave system at about -100, then start mapping out the veins near it. gives a good area to set up some automation.

You'll start to find lithium around -175 so you'll need to dig down to below -100 before the unknown ping has a chance of spotting it.

Yay, going to have camo bots dropping in on my head on the way down. Better sneak over to the coal seam when I go back in and get some torches handy to combat the chill at least.
