Did I just say 'only ' ?
Irrc, 5.7 million would be around 6300 blocks.
/faint
So I was exploring the deep undergound in my new world in search of other deposits of nickel since my supplies were running short. I did manage to find some but along with it I found another massive tin vein.

The first thing that came to mind? Excavation project! I didn't get to see how big the first record holder was so I started on this one! So just how big is a ~6.7 million ore tin vein? This big:

From top to bottom the vein is ~35 meters tall and stretches back about as far. Interspersed among it were two distinct coal pockets and three nickel veins. The nickel veins themselves measure 1.3 million, 2.7 million, and 0.7 million for the last.
My biggest surprise though? This is not the record holding largest vein found. That's because in the excavation I ran into this guy...

The new record: 8,636,400 tin ore or 9,596 blocks.
All combined in this little corner of the world is 20 million ore waiting to be extracted.
Fun trivia. For the new record holder an anti-matter extractor on easy mode would require 1124 hours to extract the entire vein (easy mode). It would burn through 92,532 coal (easy mode) to complete the task. The resulting extraction would produce 107,955 bars of tin (easy mode).
In the future I see a fun server project being to gather a group of people to tackle a vein of this magnitude. The scale of the extraction project would be insane. Even 100 anti-matter extractors would take a full 10 hours running at full tilt to bring it down.
Oh and it pales in comparison but this is the largest non-tin vein I've ever found. It proves that tin isn't the only ore that appears in absurd quantities. 5 million iron:

Though if the very first ore you find is tin, you can then proceed to use the normal ore ping to find only tin veins even quicker. That stops working as soon as you researched other ore types :)
I found some very interesting exploits in the current game, but I'll keep them secret until I get time to fix them.

It was discovered while I was bringing power from my new super massive solar array down to the lowest levels. This array is made of 150 solar panels, and since connecting it to my grid, all battery nodes have been at full capacity across my entire infrastructure.
Now I have somewhere new to use that power, just need to figure out how to get that ore out of the hole I found it in.

matter movers :)
The biggest vein I found was somewhere around 6800k. I've found many around 1500k for all ore kinds, around 3000k copper, titanium and nickel but tin seems to favor 5000k and up ;)
