Mk5 Battery
Damn that thing is expensive, I just cleaned out all nickel in inventory, then went and emptied out my nickel mass storage and I have only managed to get 125 of the 225 components required so far...

Yeah takes some time. I got about 7 tier 4 batterys and 1 tier 5. Think the idea is too slowly upgrade.

MOAR NICKEL REQUIRED
NZ_Wanderer 4 DIC 2015 a las 12:41
LOL that would be an understatament- LOTS moar nickel required...
Just pondering the idea of going down and starting up 2 more nickel mines :)

Nickel! Have you overlooked the Titanium requirement?! I cleared about 6 veins and chipped away at another dozen to make the Mk5s I used in my OET charging :P Big industry is fun though :diggin::techy:

I not too worried about titanium, been mining that a lot longer than the nickel.. :)
But just to be safe I have just crafted the T3 Forced induction for both Nickel and Titanium...

Why are you using the battery for? I'm wondering because I play with very limited use of baterry. For OET Im just connecting a bunch of turbines directly with laser transmitor..

Insufficient nickel ores!

Say it like vespene gas, because you know arther has some SC joke

Requirement for MK5 battery are insane. If I did not mess up when I did my datasheet:
36K tin, 91K gold, 194K nickel, 388K titanium.

Since I don't see a need for that battery I didn't bother. It was either try and automate enough to build that MK5 battery or build the Orbital Tower... (and now I have cleared a handful of titanium veins with full T3/anti-matters and still lightyears away from the 388K titanium requirement)

And unless I missed something (it's my first working world) once you have the tower the problem is more an issue of power generation/transmission than storage...

I used the battery for the OET because it was the safer bet. If you lost any attack the charge resets. With batteries you can charge it so fast that it isn't a problem.

Otherwise it is just good for a centeral energy storage for power distribution. That way you have enough of a pool that you can produce excess energy without it going to waste and handle situations where you lose power production.

Very much MK5 batteries are designed to help with the infrastructure needed to charge the OET.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind.

Yup, this is the reason I going to build it, that way I won't have to worry about running out of power ever again (or for a while anyway) - Not even looked into researching for the OET yet, having too much fun building...

Finally got it built and up and running :)

Why not put the turbines right up against it? I think that should work and then you can save all of those lasers. (Admittedly don't use turbines too often so correct me if I'm mistaken)
NZ_Wanderer 8 DIC 2015 a las 1:29
yup, you're right, they work up against it - I did it to start with but didn't think it looked too good, so decided to have a gap between them :)
I tend to go for how things look as well as functionality, that's why you don't see any lasers coming form the battery, they all underneath it going out to different parts of my base :)
