Tilde key (~) to open the debut then type in "detail bloom" to toggle bloom on and off. I think you have to do it each time you start the game, but it helps a bit.

You can also use the paintgun (N) to paint them a dimmer colour with the Dapper DLC.

I'd rather just disable Bloom. Every game bloom is in, i absolutely hate it. Adds no value.
Thanks for the command Professor.

Yeah, things get pretty washed out. Is it supposed to look like this? I tried the bloom toggle but it only does a little to help in this case.

It's not always this bad, depends a bit on the time of day and where I place the torches.

Maybe I have too many torches, even though it doesn't seem like that many. Besides, it's cold in here, and this is the only form of environmental control I've found. And if Minecraft has taught me anything, it's to not leave dark patches in your base, because creepy things come from there.

I hadn't realized how much light machines produce on their own. I was able to remove a bunch of torches from machine rooms (that I had initially put torches in while digging) and it looks less crazy now.

Any plans to allow game- or world-load 'scripts' (akin to windows Batch files) in which we could put tweaks like "detail bloom" (and future console-only utilities) to have them all execute on world load? Or would that likely cause more problems than it'd solve?
