How to enable upnp

i been looking how to enable my upnp both me and my friend upnp are disabled even though it not off at all any ideas.

Might not matter. It says that for me but my friend has always been able to connect to me.

I assume this is so you can play multiplayer with each other.

You can enable upnp in your modems settings, generally via web admin page.
Otherwise you can manually set portforwards, only the one hosting needs to do this.

To really be helpfull we need to know what model modem are you running. then we can be more specific.

First just try opening up your game to multiplayer in-game and it will tell you if the upnp punch-through was successful or not. If it wasn't you need to enable it on your router. I actually had to get a new router to enable this, my 'old' one did not support upnp and it would not work no matter what type of port openings I tried (and I'm a sysadmin so I know what I'm doing).

that the thing i don't know where to enable upnp on my modem i know how to enable it on my computer but me and my friend both get the failed upnp port forwarding my modem/router is at&t and i looked everywhere on it through the website

This is bad advice for someone who doesn't know what they are doing as it is a MAJOR security risk. Further, even when I put my comp in the DMZ with my non-upnp router it still did not work.

There would clearly be a section in the 'advanced' portion of your router settings for upnp. Google your router + upnp and see what you get. If you don't see it, your router may not support it and you may need to upgrade.

I can't stress enough how much nobody should ever set their gaming rig up as a dmz. Please dont ever advise people to do this again.
