laser liquifier not mining?
I've been watching my laser liquifier for some time (an hour) couse i had no incoming liquified resin.
It seems that my laser liquifier is just scanning around and not mining the ablated resin.

Did i do something wrong or is this a bug?

I think you need the storage directly next to it

Actually there is a problem with that piece of device... at least on multiplayer - hard resin is ablated, but then liquifier starts collecting power. If there is enough power in storage boxes then it will liquify resin, but then it will collect some power and somewhere use it (power keeps shifting between cca 150 and -30 (!). If you leave machine at that state it never liquifies the resin. Yes, hopper is attached. Yes, power is connected.

If you cancel liquification process, resin block stays in 'liquid state' but you are unable to mine it and next time you start liquifier it ignores those blocks (it searches for next ablated resin, even if much farther away).

So far I was able to get 1 liquified resin and 3 liquified blocks, used few milions of power and around 2 hours for process :)

That sounds odd. Once the liquifier hits around 50% of it's power, it'll start liquifying. Ie, it has enough power for one block. (Specifically, the liquifier needs 5,000 power, or it'll just do nothing)

I find it strange that it says 194% scanning completed.
There is still resin left to "mine", but still it doesn't take it.
Will see if i have time tomorrow for some deeper investigation on it.

Breaking and replacing the liquifier usually fixes this.

Already done that twice, nothing changed.

Same here. Like I said:

I'll go make some screenshots today for proof :)

I have exactly the same issue. I'm running multiplayer and hosting the server. The liquifier is powered and has a hopper next to it, the block gets converted to liquid resin in-situ but doesn't get collected and put in the hopper.

I might be misunderstanding you here and if so, my apologies.

The liquifier outputs unrefined resin to the resin refinery, not a hopper. The resin refinery is what outputs refined resin to a hopper, which can then be taken manually or moved by conveyor/tubes and used for further crafting.

If you don't have a resin refinery adjecent to the liquifier it won't work. i.e. Liquifier > Hopper > Resin Refinery > Hopper is wrong. Needs to be Liquifier > Resin Refinery > Hopper. The liquid resin won't ever enter a hopper, it must be refined to a solid first, before it can enter a hopper or be conveyed elsewhere.

Yeah, I had to pick mine back up and replace it down to get it to do anything (bleeding edge beta patch). It was full power and over 100k% scanning for ablated resin... with probably 60 blocks sitting in front of it (less than 15m)

have you tried breaking it and replacing it? also it works on an expanding radial grid to unless its surrounded by resin every time the radius increase the resin flow will slow from my experience.

I can confirm I've had the same problem. I let it idle, thinking it was taking a while. An hour of streaming later, it's still targeting the liquefied block. Seems to be a bug involving interrupting the liquifier, and it targeting the block I interrupted. It has full energy, and I check on it all the time, so the hopper is never full.

Chimeing in on this myself. The liquifier stopped whilst at full power. Had one block partially liquified.

Rebuilding it in the same place has no effect so I moved my setup around a little and hey presto it worked!

Cannot confirm the status of the half-liquified block, watching like a hawk to find out and will let you know.

One last thing. whilst rebuilding the setup I had I moved my logistics hopper. remaking the liquifier did nothing but could it be the hoppers settings were changed to remove only? Shouldnt happen, but possible. I also run my whole thing on solar power so its a stop-start process.

Now I need to wait till a certain block gets removed, I initially set up my resin system with transport belt (I was tired, dont judge me) and now it grew everywhere! I had to nanobomb 5-6 times to get to the damn machines to start removing it!

EDIT: Chimeing, not Chimwing, whateer the frack one of those is.

Can confirm, failing to fully liquify the same block. Scan is at 26,000%. Hopper is set correctly, so no easy fix.

I just ran into this problem and found a way around it.

First, observations:

I noticed the liquefier not collecting resin even through it had full power, an empty adjacent hopper, and plenty of ablated resin within range. There was a block of liquefied resin about 7m away that was glowing as if the liquefier wanted to collect it. The liquefier was stuck at "scanning" in the tens of thousands of percent.

I removed the liquefie,r and the block of liquefied resin stopped glowing. I replaced the liquefier and when it began scanning, the same block began glowing again and the liquefier stalled at scanning.

I tried moving the liquefier over one cube and it worked for a couple blocks, then tried to absorb the bad block of already-liquefied resin and stalled again.

The solution:

I removed the liquefier and placed a nano disintegrator on the block of liquefied resin that was causing the stall. After destroying the bad block I put the liquefier back in its original place and after a couple seconds of scanning it began working normally again.
