If you haven't build any further T4 machines, the CryoPlasm will be quite slow - can I get some details? How long since you build the C5, how close did the CryoPlasm get, etc?
And how could I have warned you better, but not in a way that just gives it all away?
Also, C5 and 8,000% threat? I suspect you might have run before you walked. I REALLY recommend people clear down one before starting up the other (unless ofc you like to live dangerously ;-))
I have a backup before i powered the C5 for the first time. Will that have any use or am i alreaddy doomed because i built it?
Zing.
Ok, if you're LUCKY, the CryoPlasm might take 20 or 30 hours to hit your base. If you're UNlucky, it might be there in 4-8 hours. Once it gets there... well, you don't have a base down there to do anything to. You can always beam surface power down to protect an area to get a Geothermal plant
You have a fair point regarding the calmers tho, I'll add that. I don't think many people would have seen that in advance, tho.
My advice would be to get some of the new Cluster missiles up and running - in my opinion, they should make defending the OET much MUCH easier whilst you charge it.
I'm not sure I'd roll back, but that's your call. Me, I love the challenge of digging into the CryoPlasm and telling it who's boss :-)
But does that mean i could use my backup where i didnt power the C5 and the Cryo doesnt spawn?
No reason not to roll back to a previous copy of your world, if you have one!
maybe im too dramatic here but its so frustrating after 150 hours to fail like this.
With that said it's not the end of the world to have the C5 built before your ready. It just makes things harder. Personally I would look at it as an additional challenge. I'm keeping the surface attacks going on my world for the challenge. Otherwise I could easily divert close to 10k PPS from my lasers to the cold caverns once I start up the C5.
btw which wiki are you working on. i have found 3 so far but dont know which is the best one
Overall Cryo isn't that bad. From my first world where I believe I had the maximum that the Cryo would damage my base and it was recoverable from. Made it more interesting to work out ways to build and luckily my main mineshaft was just inside the protection range of the C5. From what I can see from that world you have about a 50m radius in which the C5 will stop Cryoplasm from getting to. the Cryoplasm will just surround the C5 in a nice shell.
If you can get to the point where you can build lancers and place a few near your mineshafts with power from the surface you should be able to keep them clear.
Or you could build a ton of power and transport it down.
