Hello.

Is there a machinke like the Auto Excavator but it destroys the ore blocks too?
Whats your method to dig a 600m depth shaft?

Use the auto excavator MK2 mod. Works wonders.

No in-game machine compares for shaping your evironment, or can dig a 600m shaft while deleting ore blocks. It really should be included in the base game as an excavator upgrade.

the more methods the better i think.

Nano Disintegrators.

power boosters.

when digging straight downward, early game (without a jetpack), ping air, also, align with 2 or 4 blocks.

i'm sure there are other options, such as digging a 1x1 shaft, placing LETs as i go, to power auto excavator(s) at the bottom. i should actually try it :/

or, dig manually from the bottom up. attach a lift to a compressor, set the max height, up you go. manual control optional.

edit: i just had a brainwave for my world. imma autocraft nano disintegrators :)

Lol good idea. Nano Disintegrators. I should try it now. :)

Yeah, I have auto manufactured nanos that stock to 30 in a mass storage for me. But I use mods so I also have shadow's excavator that can dig ores and in any direction.

If you don't want to use mods (like so you can get achievments) a good option is the laser borer. Its not an early game solution but it can dig like 200 blocks down in just a few seconds. Once it finishes, just move it down, refuel and away it goes. I dug down to -1000 or so in just a couple minutes with one.

Lol i guessed it only digs to cold cavern. Can you use it again to dig deeper?

I got about 500 jet fuel to waste...

Yes, that is its misleading way of saying how far down it digs in one go. You can pick it up, replace it at the bottom of it's dug hole, and run it again.

edit: I say misleading because of the easy to get false impression it only digs down to a certain depth and can't dig deeper. I wouldn't have realized the truth if I didn't decide to just try it, lol

lol thanks. I reused it many times to dig a hole down to 250m.
But i read its description, and it says that digs a hole until cold caverns.

Thanks a lot, you saved me a lot of hassle :)

If you don't want to use mods then use bombs they are cheap as chips.

Laser borer is great! I just hate the cost of making it which always makes me not want to make many of them when I want a very wide hole for whatever reason. My latest world I just dug 7 lift shafts from -580 to 0 using the excavator. Overall it wasn't bad at all. the excavator clears things pretty quick and using multiple excavators and walking away made it very, very quick. After that it was a matter of setting up the cargo lift controllers and filling them with rack rails and jumping down the shafts to clear ore.

Mostly used my superdig, However this world is a bit different from a normal new person's world, it's on scarce/scarce/slow/hard but I have the care package enabled, and flat lands. MK3 build gun with super dig is really really quick and not to bad on power with a ARTHER fully upgraded.

Nano disintegrators work great though if you don't have the mk3. Mk2 with superdig for very small amounts of ore though still!

Ya, theres several ways to dug gud. By the time I made my laser borer, I had already automated advanced machine blocks and had plenty of lithium, gold, and iron. So it actually felt cheap since I just grabbed the machine blocks and quickly crafted the borer.

Excavator + nanos are a good, economical way to dig shafts. You just have to deal with the annoyance of ore veins in the way. Lasor borer shines when you want to dig several shafts or hate taking the time/effort to deal with the ore.
