FortressCraft Evolved

FortressCraft Evolved

The game is blurry while walking. Crystal clear otherwise.
While walking around, the enter screen is blurry. It's like it's rendering two different images and alternating between them.

what settings do you play on?
what gpu do you have?

I have tried all graphics quality settings. They all produce the same blur like effect. I'm currently playing on the p16-frozen version because the newer versions lock my mouse to the center of the game.

GPU: GTX 1080. I get about 250fps on Good quality.

EDIT: Also, the graphics in general have taken a turn for the worse since the last time I played. I don't remember everything having extreme amounts of bloom and contrast. I tried the "very old survival" version and the lighting is so much better on all graphics settings.

Gee, isn't there a saying about a thousand words, and something worth that?

Worlds created before patch 17 will blind you as lighting effects and world generation was changed at that point. I strongly recommend to make a new world if all your old ones are pre 17.

A screenshot does not show this issue.

I recorded a video, but it's barely noticeable in the recording. You can still see some instances where it looks like the frames are overlapping. For example the white rings on the laser power transmitter appear to be double or triple, like if you were crosseyed for a split second.

If screen shots and video don't show it then the issue is probably your monitor.

I already ruled that out. Only fortresscraft has the issue. CounterStrike, PUBG, Halflife, Minecraft, APB:R, and many others have been tested.

It's like the game engine is rendering the frames from left to right and there's stuttering while walking. It's only while walking. Using the grappling hook is fine.

Any other Unity games tested? What you describe sounds like an engine/graphics card level issue. Not likely something FCE does specifically.

If it's not screen-shottable, I've no idea. You seem to be vaguely describing part of the 'crt echo' effect on bright things, but that's not a temporal effect. I don't really understand what you mean by 'rendering left to right' - games don't write directly to the RAMDAC, and haven't done for 2 decades, and I don't think anyone ever wrote a vertical scanline system so I'm very lost as to what the problem is, I'm afraid.

You can type
enter detail bloom enter enter

If for some reason bloom offends you.

I recall having "blur problems" on Mass Effect that was visible on screen, especially in an elevator, but didn't show up on a screenshot. It turned out to be the motion blur setting - turning it off solved the problem. Does FCE have a motion blur setting somewhere?

It doesn't have Motion Blur, more importantly.
