Port forwarding error continues after ports are opened.
After ensuring the port 27012 is open on my uverse router, i still get the server error when i attempt to launch multiplayer stating i need to punch upnp or manually open the port. I have already contacted my webservice provider and had them open the ports manually after my attempts but have the same results and was told to confer with the game company.

If you manually forward your ports UPnP will always fail however forwarded ports means anyone should be able to connect. The UPnP error is just for detecting whether UPnP itself worked but it never works on a port that's already claimed for forwarding.

You should contact them if they use port randomization and if you can have static IP. I recently discovered my provider started using port randomization and I can't host anything even with port opened. Unless I buy static IP from them.

Only forward it as UCP not as TCP. This will probably fix it for a bad router.

If you have UPnP enabled (supported on virtually any router that isn't crumbling to dust at this point, and default on most) then the game should be able to punch through without any need to manually forward anything. It may sound silly, but make sure you've tried it without trying to manually forward anything at all. I've banged my head against this issue for a while in the past before realizing i was causing the issue by forwarding rather than resolving it.

Keep in mind though... if you forward the port correctly it should work and you'll not have to worry about it ever again like the cases of some routers screwing up and not clearing UPnP requests properly and them not working the next time you try to connect...

The port may not be forwarded correctly. It sounds like OP called AT&T regarding the port forwarding and there's pretty much zero percent chance that their tier 1 tech support forwarded a port to a particular LAN IP correctly.

After much frustration and simply resetting my router and opening the same port the exact same way again the server appeared to allow additional people to enter regardless of error.
