Can't Get Past War of the Worlds Quote

Stuck on quote screen. Reinstalled with no mods. When I hit Esc it shows CPH initialising.... but never moves past.

The game crashing 'instantly' isn't the same as 'stuck after 30 seconds'

I have the same issue going on I started a new map with no mods and the lower left just says:
"LocatingImpact/PlayingGenned 132()Frust False)\-"
war of the worlds quote just chillin there and I left it sit and load for a little over 10min, no progress

132 seems low. What detail setting?

Initially I did start the world with Mods and it would close before starting opening sequence. I disabled all mods and started same world that is when it hanged on the quote screen. Once I started a new world with no mods it loaded just fine.

sorry for getting back so late, but graphics quality is "fabulous".. still stuck on that screen, this time it says Genned 11, if that means someting.. I'm going to uninstall entirely and wipe it clean and see if maybe something got messed during the patching

Sorry to revive this post, but I've got the same issue. Brand new install, no mods, all settings on default, and I can't actually get into the game. Creating a new survival world or going into existing one only gets to the quote screen. Running Win7 64-bit.

Bottom left text:
WaitForExplosion/Playing(Genned 4964)(Frust False)

The Esc menu comes up, but Quit to Desktop just hangs and I have to end-task.

Added Avast exceptions for the save folder as well as the game EXE, but creating a world still just hangs the game. If I end-task, I can load the world, but I just get my movement paused forever with "CPH Initialising" on the screen.
