No... it's hard-coded 640x480, as far as I know.

It was released in 1998. Its 16 years old already and there hasnt been a patch released in years and years. Why would you expect a company to provide a support for a 16 old game that they have re-released extremely cheaply? Its on here so that people can play an old classic, not to suddenly start patching an ancient product. Hell Microsft, a massive global corporation, stopped supporting Windows XP and its less old than Gorky 17.

Because games are piece of ART, little kid.

On the other hand, operation systems are not.

Oh come on Mr Condescension. Name me a game you know that is still getting offical support from its develop after 16 years? To your apparent argument that games as art should get support from their devellopers indefinitely. What other forms of art get regular updates forever? Once a novel, painting, movie or musical composition is finished, its done, thats it. The support it gets is remaining in publication and sometimes, even that doesnt even happen, look at the many works that are out of print. This is on old game, CDProjeckt bought the rights to it and made it available again on GOG and on Steam. Thats more support than a lot of art gets. And for goodness sake, Im 43, you come off as a jackass by making groundless assumptions along with flawed arguments.

On my 1920 x 1080 monitor it's still *almost* full screen, not a super tiny box.

Just some minor black borders, which might be fixable if I can disable the overscan on those (a bit of a pain because windows 7 doesnt support 640x480 but still possible).

Unfortunatly there aren't even any fan patches available as it wasn't popular enough to have that dedicated a fanbase. Out of curiosity have you had to turn on any compatabilty modes to get it to work on Windows 7? I haven't installed it yet, bought it today because it was a bargain and I have fond memories of it from back in the day.

Poof, done. I am in fullscreen without any borders on a 22 inch 1920x1080 on windows 7 ultimate.

go to screen resolution settings (rightclick from desktop), then advanced, then all modi, set to 640x480 (be careful as your desktop wont fit on this screen, get used to using keyboard shortcuts to navigate between windows for a bit). Then change your refresh rate from 60 to 59 herz, and then start the game. Perfect fullscreen for me.

If this doesn't work, try different color modes (I kept it on 32 bit) and look at the settings for overscan / underscan for your videocard.

Oh and no, I didn't use any compatability settings.

And you still don't own it.

this might not work, but you could try creating a shortcut, going into properties then shortcut then edit the end of the target line which should look something like this

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gorky 17\gorky17.exe"

and add width=1920 height=1080 to the end of it so it should look like this

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gorky 17\gorky17.exe" width=1920 height=1080

that should force a resolution change.
