3rd Party PS4 controller issues

I bought this game on Steam, and my friend's genuine PS4 controller works with the game.. but my 3rd Party one doesn't seem to be able to do so. Am I missing something?

The 3rd party controller seems just about as good as the real deal, and works on another Steam game of mine (a Guilty Gear fighting game)... so, is there any way to make my 3rd party controller work with the game, or am I stuck having to buy a real PS4 controller?

Update: just played few games that has SDL powered gamepad suppor, and some old games that mixed dinput and xinput together and THEY ARE ALL BROKEN now, all buttons messed up, vibration does not work, some games cant even detect gamepad.

its global issue of Windows 10 creators update, stupid Microsoft programmers broke raw input, xinput, dinput, winmm and sdl that relies on them

I went out and bought a real PS4 controller... which didn't work at first UNTIL I went to the Steam settings and selected my controller to be recognized. Worked fine after that. Which means I probably COULD have avoided going to Walmart in the middle of the night to buy an overpriced PS4 controller, but.. eh... What's done is done. XD

I think third party ones are considered "generic controllers". That being said, I might know of a solution. I helped write a guide for a game called Mekazoo on this subject for the developer to troubleshoot their issue with Direct Input controls using only Steam so people who want a more retro-game experience can use retro console controllers with the game.
