all of this stuff works in FS2020
I only, ONLY bought this game for playing it in VR. Especially after they said that they massively improved VR for this game in particular. But it seems like they just threw it to the wayside and did not even bother to bind any buttons - not even for menu interactions! I have never seen a product that is so blatantly unfinished. At least Big Rigs let you use your button inputs to control your truck. This game does not have any bindings and doesn't even let you bind the most important inputs, like a freakin' thumbstick.
Just one random intern jumping in VR to do some basic quality testing would have immediately spotted that you can't even click anything in the menu. I can only assume that they did zero quality assurance, otherwise they would have noticed that the game is literally unplayable. As in that you can't even interact with anything in it. I am not going to play this game on a mouse and keyboard while I am in VR. My screen is blocking my base stations. Also mouse and keyboard sucks! The worst part about this is that I can see that an amazing sim/game lies directly underneath. I would love love love to play this. But I can't. I can't even grab the yoke.
As AgentM83 said, this is extremely frustrating. And I am extremely frustrated, if my rant was no indication for it. I am refunding this. 80€ should have brought me joy, not misery.
If you want to play with your Index controllers but are having trouble setting them up, don't worry. Here's how to fix your control setup quickly and efficiently, without spending the next five hours going crazy.
Step 1: Access the Button Assignment Menu
The first thing you need to know is that all buttons will be assigned in the same way. On the right side of the controls options, you’ll see a small blue cog icon. When you click on it, it will open the advanced options for button assignments. This step is necessary because this game doesn’t always recognize the input from the Index controllers properly.
All options will appear in this format:
**(Main Section Name) > (Sub Section Name) > (Button Function)**
Then, assign it to **X**.
**Important**: Don’t forget to click the blue cog icon on the right to access these settings.
-Use the **Left Hand** for movement.
Use the **Right Hand** for camera control (outside the plane).
Player Character > Movement > Move Left/Right Axis >** Assign to **Horizontal Thumbstick**
Right below this, you can also assign a crouch button. Even if you don’t assign it, the game will auto-crouch when in tight spaces.
To Open Doors / Inspect Objects:
Player Character > Interaction > Interact >** Assign to **Click Trigger**
---
- **Player Character > Camera > Rotate X Axis >** Assign to **Horizontal Thumbstick**
**Note**: Before setting this up, make sure you select the second controller (on the left panel).
The camera will follow your HMD (Head-Mounted Display) by default and not your hands, so you don't need to set a Y Axis for the camera.
---
With these settings, you will be able to interact with all cockpit elements such as electronics, the tablet, yokes, throttle, etc.
Cockpit > Cockpit Interaction > Primary Action >** Assign to **Click Trigger**
Cockpit > Cockpit Interaction > Lock >** Assign to **Value Squeeze** (Set Input value to 100 for a full grip)
(Used for the yokes)
Cockpit > Cockpit Interaction > Unlock >** Assign to **Value Squeeze** (Set Input value to 0 for full release)
(Used for the yokes)
With these options, you will be able to interact with everything in the cockpit.

I hope this guide helps you get your Index controllers set up and working as expected. Please be kind, as this is my first guide ever!
