If that is the case, it loads instantly here.
If you include the mouse and keyboard I have 7 controllers attached that I need to cycle through each time I want to check the profiles so it takes about a minute or less to go through - helped by the fact that my mappings for the keyboard, mouse and rudder pedals are identical for all aircraft so I only need to really check the other 4 controllers.
I know you said you were doing a lot of a making profiles as default in your other thread so I'd probably start by looking at how many profiles you've got configured against each controller in case there's lots of them. That's just pure speculation though.
Certainly for the GENERAL profile on each controller you probably only need 1 or maybe 2 profiles at most. This category probably has the most potential mappings associated with it so if there's loads of profiles there maybe this is significant.
As I say, just taking a stab in the dark though.
I think they were referring to the fact that when they choose another controller it takes a little while for the 3 profile groups to appear and populate as opposed to time taken when cycling between the profiles.
From other threads I know that they did have a large number of profiles created against their controllers, certainly larger than probably needed, especially for the top GENERAL group. They have since trimmed those profile numbers down so it'd be interesting to know if this has made any noticeable difference to the loading times.
I discovered that in my previous wildly wrong aircraft configuration attempts, I had ended up with probably hundreds of different "setups" spread amongst the various inputs in my system.
It has taken a lot of work to remove all of these, but I think #I am close to ACHIEVING A RELATIVELY CLEAN PRESETS SYSTEM.
I have had a great deal of advice and help from a member of these forums allowing me to understand (I think I do anyway) how these presets work, or rather are supposed to work. Basically, as I understand it, use of the "Save as Default" option is completely unneeded, and to date I have found this to be very true.
My presets now load in lets say a few seconds rather than the 20-30 seconds they were taking previously, so a definite plus !.
If anyone is interested in the way I now understand and set these up, I am happy to write up a fully detailed (and potentially pretty long) guide ?
Please let me know if anyone is interested in the above Guide ?
