Crashing to desktop during short test flight
Recently upgraded to 64GB RAM because running FS2024 was maxing out my RAM on 32GB. To see how things are with 64 gigs, I've been trying to do short hops from Ft Lauderdale to Freeport (and getting the most realistic simulation of US airspace imaginable) in the Cessna 408. However, the sim keeps crashing to desktop at random mid-flight, and one crash was so severe it took down my computer with it. This happens on both the stable and beta branches, and I am not sure if it's related to my graphics driver or the sim itself.

My driver version is Adrenalin 25.1.1, fwiw. If it is the problem I'll go back to 24.12.1.

Check the event manager to see what is going on. An application basically cannot take down the computer as a whole unless there is either an underlying hardware problem, driver problem, or bios problem.
Event manager didn't show anything useful, beyond a crash log of Flight Sim 2024. However, I got a crash to desktop while playing a different game, so I downloaded the Adrenalin 24.12.1 driver, ddu'd 25.1.1 and reinstalled 24.12.1. I'll see how it goes from here.
Flight finished on 24.12.1, so it is indeed a driver issue. Just a note for other Radeon owners, do not use 25.1.1, stick to 24.12.1 until AMD releases a new recommended driver.
