Sometimes also it spawns you in a tree or in a building and the plane crashes instantly as you start the mission. Happened to me once, but not with my own plane.
I know that when I leave the rwy right after landing and deaccelerate on the grass next to the rwy after a time it ends in a crash no matter if I was close to a stand still.
Wonder if there is an accumulation of overspeed time on grass so that it will lead to a crash due to an accumulated limit check..becaus eI have not seen anything in the grass and this happend twice to me.
Other than that I never had a crash on taxi way or grass next to the rwy. And no crash on any rwy too so far.
Another possibility is that the thread that does crash detection is different than the thread for the flight modeling. If that thread lags behind (and it probably does to some degree), then the problem being flagged will be well back of where you are when it actually puts up the crash notification. In this case, it is probably you leaving the runway at high speed.
