MSFS 2024 is DEAD. Uninstalled.

MSFS 2024 promised too much. Did not deliver. Uninstalled.

• It costs way too much for this DISASTER.
  
• Streaming packages is the WORST decision ever. On each start you have to wait while it downloads something. Before starting any activity, you have to wait.
  
• It streams packages to your C: (system) drive, under C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages - and it has not asked for a permission or for a custom path. This path MUST be customizable.
  
• Instead, it must have allowed the users to permanently download packages - per region, per activity, per aircraft. And to the custom path. NOT system drive.
  
• No marketplace.
  
• Airports that I have bought from MSFS 2020 marketplace did not show up in MSFS 2024 world despite being enabled. I had to manually copy the files from MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024 community folder, for those airports to show up.
  
• You have to RESTART MSFS 2024 so a newly enabled package could actually be downloaded. Nonsense.
  
• Logitech yoke that I have - it works pretty well on MSFS 2020 - almost all default, all controls were properly mapped automatically etc. It feels bad on MSFS 2024 - sensitivity is different, missing some mappings etc. Uncomfortable to use.
  
• Career mode should have been just an addon for MSFS 2020. Not everyone needs it.

Overall MSFS 2024 needs another good year of work before it could even compete with MSFS 2020. Now it FAILS in every aspect. Bugs, crashes, poor quality.

In point of fact it downloads very little at startup. If you take a look at performance, negligible network traffic occurs. What does occur is loads of CPU activity.

I don't know why it takes quite so long to startup. But network traffic is minimal.

because of the streaming packs, it murders ssd life spans. No joke. Just running It will damage your pc. Basically, it has to download itself, and then uninstall itself every time you start the game and close the game. An ssd can only write data so many times before it fails. In just two weeks this shaved 5 points of my ssd health. Don't buy or play this game if you don't want to lose your drive.

Because this pretty much is feedback to the makers of the game. The developers are here. I've been in a number of arguments with them already lol.

Seems find on my systems. I have various SSDs on various systems that are years old and rewritten to consistently, yet no significant issues. My experience shows that they can be as good as HDDs in that respect.

And what '5 points' are you referring to?

I worked in IT and I am not sure of what '5 points' you are referring to as a measurement of SSD life expectancy.

What utility are you using to test for your '5 points'?

What make and model of SSD are you referring to as there are many questionable brands from China?

Naw, 20 years ago that's what it would have been. Now, it's a drama fest. They did a GREAT job making this game. Yes, it has issues, LIKE EVERY GAME EVER LAUNCHED! The issue these days, is we have al of these WHINNY "I NEED EVERYTHING PERFECT NOW" kids that ruin things and cause negativity issues for those trying to MAKE A GREAT GAME!!! ALL AAA games have starting problems. Instead of being a ****, how about giving some POSITIVE INPUT, rather than the constant complaining. These men and women work hard to make a game that HOPEFULLY, you kids can enjoy.

The problem is that they charge a fortune for a whole and finished game when it then takes two years to finish it. The problem is that not only do you get used to that, it seems that you defend it.
