How do you move this to a different drive?

Yeah I don't keep any games on my C:\ drive and it didn't give me an option to move the game to an install location for things like the community folder. The only thing I could set when I was briefly able to load in the first time was a cache location.

Same here. I was hoping i could pick where all that was going to be stored. I got a new ssd drive just for msfs2024. I swear in msfs2020 you could pick where all this got installed
you have to edit the user config file in the app data folder to move it. Really dumb.

Umm... that's not the permanent location for the game files, right? If so, that's unacceptable... like many, I use a (smaller) separate SSD for my system drive.

I'm hoping that when the game actually manages to install properly, the main data will be stored where I asked Steam to install it (my D: drive). If not... well that basically means the game will be broken for me.

Even in FS2020, we had the choice of where to install the files... why didn't we get that option this time?
wait, why are the installed packages located on C? I dont have enough room on there, whats the point of a install directory if you just go stick everything on C

I modified the UserCfg.opt to have my other drive in it, that should work, then eventually once ive actually logged in, I can remove the rolling cache it created and move that elsewhere.

OMG I think you're right... that's INSANE.
Maybe you can use symbolic links.

How you do this?
I don't want big files on my c drive. Why doesn't the game give me a choice on where to put these files?
i used that guide that was posted to make the link between game drive and c

Is there a specific guide or are you referring to the files above? I'm not sure what to change.
