We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible.

For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal.

Reboot the game so we get subjected to another 2 hours waiting period. Love it! How come one of the largest companies in the world, didn't make sure they had the server capacity ready?

And that is why most other game developers put the majority of their core game components on steam (or any other major software platform) which have way bigger server than their own server dedicated to a specific game that is never going to be comparable.

damn i actually fell for it, they basicly said press alt f4 to fix lol

Mine gets to 6% - Loading Language, then it crawls. It takes around an hour just to get to 97% and then it hangs. Restarting everything doesn't help. Same thing happens every time. At some point it said long loading time - and something about a log was created.

and yup.......stuck at 97% on second launch, rebooted, now back to 6%. And I fell for it , well played MS Support, well played

so instead of fixing it, your response is just to tell us to go away? (Refunding at once because of you. This is too expensive for a "just go away")

I was at 97% for over an hour, took an hour to get there. Rebooted and right back to 6% loading packages. I am giving up for today, as having read developers comments I figure the server is overloaded.

Woah woah calm down. Microsoft is only worth 3 Trillion dollars you can't expect them to allocate enough resources for a massive game launch where they decided to focus on streaming content!

Damn I'm sorry I must have forgotten that those server costs total up to about 4 Trillion, silly me.
