How to Install Everything?

I dont get it.

Installed... able to play... but the game is only 11GB? I dont want to stream everything every session. I want to download for offline play.

As it is now you have to stream every session by design. Even if you get past the queue screen, you will have to go through that process again next time you play. I already refunded the game and will revisit in a month or so if they change things. Until then MSFS 2020 runs well for me, albiet it's a few hundred GB install.

I have also only 11 GB installation size which seems far too little to me. If I want to start an activity (flight training for example) I see the nice tiles with all the different training sessions but if I click on a tile nothing happens. It seems that it's just not installed (concidering the small installation size).

Update: I reinstalled the game. Still have only 11 GB installation size but at least the flight training is working now. Will try everything else. Maybe the 11 GB are really enough, that would be cool...

You're correct with the 11GB install size at this moment in time. One of the new elements of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a more streamlined client with a much lower install size than Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020).

Can we please get the option to install at least all the aircraft and scenery packs like 2020 for those of us who are ready and prepared to give it the space it would need?

This just isn't true sir why say this?

My Steam install has 11.6GB on my F Drive and 17.3GB on my C Drive.

I didn't want anything on C Drive and yet here we are with bad information.

I think you should consider adding a bit more of the game to the client side even a basic PC can cope with the character creation and that's as far as my High end PC gets as servers can't cope
I was expecting a game where the client is the game and you send us the latest map tiles and we cache them locally so we don't have download them everytime we sly over that tile

You can copy scenery, airports, and planes from the MSFS 2020 community folder to the MSFS 2024 community folder. Worked fine for me.

Is the option being look at to allow people to download the full game like 2020 and have the scenery load in form servers like 2020. Streaming the whole sim is clearly causing problems and isn’t going to get better with more and more people playing. Asobo were quick to report 15 million iirc users recently surely you can’t expect to stream a simulator worldwide with even have of that player base and not expect problems. There really needs to be a look at allowing us to download this just like 2020

Does not make any difference you are still streaming the sim from the cloud which is the issue

This feels kinda terrible though.... its laggy and runs extremely poorly... and every asset takes AGES to load even on 1.5 Gigabit internet. Give me the option to download please.... this feels awful.
