I just re-read the thread and don't see that, so maybe be more clear.
Then there is the Jetson, again. It flies like the drone, but has a human riding it, and the range is limited unless you abuse the recharger, and there is no penalty for that.
And then the hot air balloon, which predates manned winged flight. You go up, it comes down, it really is a lovely experience.
The other aircraft are more complex than a bag of hot air, but they aren't difficult to learn. Many are tricky to master, though. Most people have no problem getting the aircraft up. The blimp, for example, is truly easy to launch. It is so easy to take off with the blimp, that if you aren't careful the blimp will fly up into the clouds while your character is standing on the ground (which doesn't happen in real life if the blimp's failsafe ripcord is attached properly). Unlike the balloon, it pretty much does not come down. However, flying the blimp in such a way that you get to your destination without wild oscillations is tricky.
A controller helps a lot: I bought an XBOX controller from Goodwill for a few bucks. Anything is better than KB/M.
