Passive Income Nerfed?
Did they just nerf the passive Income or what is happening?

I couldn't active fly yesterday but started a mission and had in running all day to generate passive income.

This morning it listed 10 hours and passive incomes for my 60 planes (mainly Cessna's 172 because the ypay best) and it generated 1 mil credits only.

That's a tenth of what it generated the normaly.

One Cessna 172 generated 15k to 20k credits/hour and 1% wear and tear.

Today it generated 20k in total for the 10 hours. But 10% wear and Tear !

Now let's see
Cessna 172 brand new costs 500k
10% wear and tear -> 50k
Income from the 10 hours -> 20k
-------------------------------------
Result -30k

Means we will go bankrupt in a very short time.

I have to say I did a full maintenance of all the 60 planes in the morning which is
crazzy to do if you have a list of 15 identical Cessna 172 undistinctable from each other in a horizontal list with no numbers or anything and whenever you do the maintenance and go back you are back at the start of that list and have to scroll to this identical madness again.. good luck in finding Plane number 10 in that last !!!

So ... anyone else have experienced the 10 times passive income reduction this morning ?
:steamsad:

p.s. ..oh and Asobo..I still would like to have the A320 in Career. When is it comming please?

I think passive income is only generated when you actually actively flying. Not sitting on the apron but flying. And also you must be offline at midnight UTC.

Unless they have changed it no.
It generates when you start a mission. You don't even had to enter the cockpit.
All you have to do is later to choose Restart Mission which books the time.
Then you can abort it.

Maybe seen as an exploit or cheat I never however use Time Rate Accelerations also not when I am active flying.

I measured the behaviour. But also someone else confirmed it works like that.

And if you check the wear and tear is from 10 hours as well the booked time is from 10
hours. Usueally also you get the payment from 10 hours.

So payment and wear and tear time are not useing the same time that is for sure a bug.

I suspect that the Maintenance that I did in the Morning has to do with that.
Not sure when I did it but can be it was after 1 hour beeing passive.

Likely it means if you do a maintenanc ethe plane is off for that day for payments..however it should be off for wear an dtear as well then.

That means Eighter I have to shedule a Maintenance DAY where where I am not allowed to fly passive or active at all...

.. or I will try to do the maintenance in the evening and see if then the day time before the maintenance is payed.

But I can only do that in a week.

Eighter way.. that's an anyoing bug.

If this persists it is maybe even better to never do maintenance on the plane at all and just sell them as soon as the yare broken and buy new ones.

It's anyway very bad that you get a LOT more by haveing 100 of small planes instead the larger planes. I can accept if larger planes get less payment but if it is that much then I have to say they somewhat force us to hold 100 of the small planes in order to progress in payment.

I could care less about the payment but I want to fly the A320 as soon as possible and that means I need the millions.

Right now I fly Medic Mission that pay only half of the Medium Cargo missions but are more fun. However this I can only do as long I can relay on a good passive income. Otherwhise it makes no sense to do something where you earn the half only and is a lot harder to get a good score.

I am amazed that some still play the bug filled and boring built in career mode. I am using Neofly 4 which imo is far superior.

I like Neofly and advocated it heavily back when the wind was just stupid in career mode. However, using the EFB it is now possible to weed out the broken missions and the built in career mode is much more enjoyable than it was.

One thing I still like about Neofly is the much better control over the weather and time of day that you are flying. This can lead to much more variety.

I don't know for sure how it works, but I heard it from multiple people on yt that passive income is only counted (now) while you are actually flying. I didn't test myself, but perhaps they actually changed it to that and this would explain why you get less than you have expected.

Well ... where it doesn't add up is that the wear and tear was booked for the full 10 hours.

Also that would be a new behaviour because I can tell for sure that wasn't like that yesterday and the days before.

I have done 2 flights today and plan a third so it will be half active half passive.

Will see what I get tomorrow.

Ah. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!
So I will find out how this happens. I suspect the Maintenance.
But if it is active Fly Hours only I will see that tomorrow too and can arrange.

For what it is worth, I only do active fly only. I never leave an airplane just running on the tarmac. I have seen mixed reports about whether that works or not. But at the end of the day, I play the game to fly. YMMV.

In FS2020 I often flew to a destination then parked the aircraft and had it sitting there for several hours while enjoying the Airport life (all multiplayer traffic) doing other things and haveing a glimbs on whats going on there and then later the day I did the return flight.

So I am used to have a parked aircraft on my Screen at an airport the whole day! :steamhappy:

Now in Career I simple do it before the flight not to risk a sim crash and the mission credits. :)
As Info:

I got a full payment this morning. So that yesterday seems to be a strange exception.
Will have to figure out if it was because of the maintenance. It strongly looks so to me.
But will also check if there is a difference between active and passive flying.

Unfortunatly I had my second and third Game crash this morning.
(so a all time total of 3 game crashes)

First was mid flight.
Second was mid flight.
Third in Menu after FS2024 Restart and going into Settings.

Looks a bit like it can be an Nvidia driver issue. That the third happend right after soft game restart might hint on that the graphic card did not recover with soft booting.

after pc cold restart so far it looks stable again
