it runs well on my old 1070ti.

performance isn't the problem, but the game itself - issues with missions, spotty mission 'generator', career mode in general, bugged planes, ATC, etc

The game is available as part of gamepass. Not sure if they still do but it used to be quite common to be able to get access for a month or so reasonably cheap, like £1 / $1.

Get it on gamepass. You can trial for £1 for 14 days. Or do about 2 weeks worth of Microsoft rewards and get it free for a month.

It will run on the lowest settings, but you won't be able to achieve 60 fps all the time. It will definitley dip into the 30s or less now and then
