Engine Exploded
In my career, my aircraft engine "exploded" (die). I just did maintenance the flight before this one. Everything was in good status. While idling the engine just die and got a message about engine problems. I had to abort the mission. Go to maintenance and it $36k to fix the engine. I'm just glad it didn't happen in air. Now I'm afraid to fly in career mode because I can't afford to loss my only plane do to some random failure on good parts.

You can always press ESC and then ABORT the mission.

If you are skilled you can do an emergency landing on any airport even without any engine.
Unfortunatly the mission then still says failed but your aircraft will be fine.

If you never have attempted such just try once outside the career to get a feeling about it. It's all about a good judgment about hight and distance and a good speed management.

There is a famous real life crash report called "Gimli glider" where an airliner pilot used a special sailplane method to decrease it's altitude faster because the airport was too close and glided and landed the plane safe.

I used that method in FS2024 too. Works fine.

You have to see it as an adventure. It is a simulation so you can try things out without any risk. A sandbox playground. Enjoy! :)

Well the main problem is my doing my career in Alaska. (Because I live here.) And most off the mission are out over mountain I can barely get over. And not really in gliding range of many airport. So if something goes wrong, I'm losing my plane. And I have to have the cheap insurance, or it would take three time longer to save money for a better plane.
every event, failed, ... are in this game totaly randomly evaluate. It's awfull... and it's worth every day. Today, all my keyboard/joystick setup where "corrupt". All these "informaticians" should go back to elementary school or hair cuter formation ! It's a really shame...
