Lens Flare Disable How?
I don't understand the point of lens flare in any game. Why would we inject artificially created lens flare? It is an undesirable artifact in photography. It looks like crap. My eyes aren't camera lenses. Any way to disable it?

you can disable it by editing UserCfg file with a text editor.

Where can I find instructions for this? Thanks!
try this and let me know if it worked

navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
make a backup of UserCfg.opt file (just in case it doesn't work)
open UserCfg.opt with a text editor (i suggest notepad++ but regular notepad will work too)

in the Graphics block add this block before texture block

{PostProcess Enabled 1 (1 = enable post-processing) EyeAdaptation 0 (1 = apply dynamic exposure level) ColorGrading 0 (1 = apply colour changes) Sharpen 1 (1 = sharpen the image) Fringe 0 (1 = mimic camera lens colour aberration) LensDistortion 0 (1 = mimic camera lens distortion) Dirt 1 (1 = enhance dirt effect on camera/windscreen) LenseFlare 0 (1 = mimic camera lens light patterns) Filmgrain 0 (1 = add film grain effect to the image) Vignette 0 (1 = darken the edges of the image) LensBlurMultiplier 1.000000 (defines the amount of camera lens blur) FringeMultiplier 1.000000 (defines the amount of chromatic aberration) }

at least this worked in FS2020 I haven't tested it in FS24 yet. In FS24 there is no PostProcess block by default, but besides that its similar to FS20 file so i would assume these settings should work, they are just using default values when left out.
