I have close to no game crashes. The last 2 days I spend all day in the simu doing career and never had a single crash during the missions.

There is one I know ehen you end the missions in VR and when you press enter in VR and it should go to the HQ..there it seems to crash often or always. So I make sure to leave VR whenever the mission is finished.

I’m level 110 in the career with about 90 hours and haven’t had one crash on my gtx 1080 dinosaur of a machine.

Not sure if this was your situation but worth a mention: I was midway through a career mission when our power went out. I was worried it would count it as a failed mission, or worse, as a plane crash. Fortunately, it didn't. When I was able to log back in, my plane was back where the mission started. Naturally, I started up the mission again but right as I turned to final approach it crashed with an "unexpected error." Apparently, if a mission gets interrupted for any reason, it still shows on your mission list but you can't actually do it. Just find a new one.

amd graphics card? updated? fixed it for me
Again, 2 hours flying, landing, crash on way to holdshort. It's a pattern.... dozens of hours of precious lifetime wasted.

Just curious, how much ram does OP have?

I have absolutely no problem doing missions in "employee mode" but I cannot for the life of me do ONE single mission as a "freelancer" without the game crashing and generating an error code every single time. It takes my money "fee to transfer the plane" and within minutes it crashes. Try again and it takes my money again and yep, another crash. I have yet to do my first 172 cargo mission in freelance mode. I'm crossing my fingers the next patch will fix this problem because it is very irritating watching people able to do the same thing with no problems while I've uninstalled the game completely 3 times (all files and folders that relate to MSFS 2024), rebooted my PC and then reinstalled it just to get the same results.

"Unexpected error"
"You can not continue this mission"
Error code: 308-400-00209

I don't know what he has but I have 64Gb, 4070 Ti Super and a 128Gb rolling cache on a Samsung 980 Pro with read speeds up to 7,000 MB/s and still get the errors. I'm assuming the problems lie on the server side. Lets hope the next patch addresses some of those annoying career issues.

I never had a CTD with MSFS 2024 but the error it generates brings me back to the career managing screen and I have to start over every time.

Definitely an hardware-related crash.

Had the same problem. Upgraded the powerunit in my pc from 750 to 1000 w. No problem anymore.

For those interested, I finally figured out what was generating the "Unexpected Error code: 308-400-00209" and prevented me to do any freelancer missions. Maybe it'll work for some of you also, but in my case it definitely was definitely the refuel I was doing at the beginning of the freelancer missions. I figured it out thanks to a content creator YT video where he mentioned that every time he would try adding fuel to his plane during a freelancer mission it would crash the mission, so I tested his theory.

In employee mode I made a habit of always topping off my fuel tanks before every flight. But it seems you cannot do that with freelancer mode without generating the error. I've just completed 6 back to back missions (made about $565K) in a row without refueling and without any problems and also without restarting the sim even once in the last 8 hours.

So I started another mission just for the sake of testing, fueled the plane before taxiing and as soon as I made it to the runway and applied throttle, the error 309-400-00209 popped up again.

The only thing that was left for me to do to confirm was to test another mission with no refuel. And I just completed a 2 hours flight on autopilot at 9,000 ft, landed at the airport & taxied to parking and no problems at all and made another $117K.

So no, it definitely was not hardware related in my case.
