Buy or wait?
It's no secret that the game was a complete and utter mess at launch , but is it better now? is it worth the 70$ price tag or is it still running like a pile of steam dog s%$^?

shall I wait for a sale?

I've been having fun when it works and a lot of frustration when it doesn't.
I doubt there will be a sale any time soon, but if you are not itching for the latest scenery and effects, you might as well hold off a little longer. If you want to play career or missions, then waiting some more will avoid much frustration.

Sort of depends on you. If you've already got FS2020, 2024 isn't that much of an upgrade and in a lot of ways it's a downgrade. (less stable, takes longer to load, no marketplace, ect.)
If that's the case, I'd hold off for a while.
If you don't have 2020 and you like what you've seen online and are interested in flight sims, then buy now since it will improve over time and there probably won't be a sale in the next 6 months based on how seldom FS2020 goes on sale.
If you're on the fence because you're not sure how well your computer will run it, then maybe get a month of GamePass to try it and see. (you won't get a good look at it within the refund window on Steam)
It's 2 main features over 2020 are the career mode which has a lot of repetitive grinding for cash and XP in the early part and it's nicer graphics which are an improvment, but not that much better.

I've got 2020 on Steam and 2024 on Gamepass and I'm probably still flying more in 2020 due to the various issues in 2024.

You'll also want a very fast internet connection with no data cap for all that streamed content. If that part's going to be a problem, go with 2020 instead.

trust the reviews i did not and i kinda regretting it.

sum missions are so stuck they just remain on a constant loading screen.
then you can choose ther other missions in the same area and they load no worries.

it is stupid every one says stay in the same area and yet that is not the case.

so now all i can do is grind the same missions over and over because the other missions are broken to heck.

so if you can do the same type of missions over, yay i am sick in tired of doing skydiving missions over and over.

oh dont get me started about the grass landings and most of the skydiving missions take place on the grass.

so many penalties for the most stupidest thing.

they tell you to land there so you do then after wards they tell you why did you land there for you not allowed you in out of bounds.

just search serious about the problems.

save your money seriously. you really dont need this

thank you guys. I think I'll just wait. This would be my first MSFS purchase and given it is still kind of a hot mess, I think it is best to wait and see how things turn out. I come from DCS and MSFS never really intrigued me but 2024 with the career mode is something I wanted to try.

Just get gamepass for a month and try it out
The simulator is technically in an alpha at the moment. There is currently no marketplace and no third-party providers of sceneries such as airports, etc. The servers are running a bit better than in the first week, but the data streaming is still far from good. The AI voices in career mode are an absolute horror and nip any immersion in the bud. There are numerous bugs and crashes that affect the experience extremely badly.
The simulator has what it takes to become the best simulator of all time. Provided that Microsoft/Asobo can still solve the massive problems. Microsoft has committed a major breach of trust as they released this simulator in a catastrophic state. Except for the good graphics (only in places when the data streaming works well for once), there is nothing positive to report.
Trust in the developers has been enormously damaged on my part. I will therefore never pre-order again. The few free planes for compensation are a bad joke and can't make up for the trouble.

In the current state, I clearly advise against buying. You buy a lot of trouble and problems for a lot of money.
