In free-flight mode, it depends on where you start, if you start on the runway it will be all set up.
It seems set up, but my controls won't move the plane. I thought I had the controls set to 2020 by Duplicating them per the Controls Section. But maybe it didn't change.
Guess I need to work on the controls and be real fast at the beginning, ha.
thanks

Nor could I find somewhere to turn on Tracker.
I'm in Free Flight.
I just got CH Flight Sim Yoke and it's old, but works just fine on 2020.
thanks for the replies., I'm trying to set up my controler and they have enough options for 747 or the space shuttle.

Do you mean TrackIR? Make sure you do the Game Update on the TrackIR driver.
You might have to still walk around to remove the chocks and covers though (I havent checked if the auto copilot setting does this as well for you). Dont forget the pitot tube cover like I did once.
Otherwise choose the runway to start from in the mission setup and you will be at the end of the runway all set for take off. You will have to release the parking brake first (Cntrl+Spacebar).
I can set the elevator to an axis and it'll work, but it's real touchy. You have to adjust it all the time. Now I usually use a flight plan and auto pilot, so it may not matter when I start doing missions.

When I set mine on the rocker button (up an Dn) it wouldn't hold and drift up. Now I've tried Auto Pilot, the only that worked for me was the Alt, the GPS wouldn't hold the Route or even goto the route. The Heading won't even hold on VOR 1 without GPS.
And this one of the simplest Autopilot Layout they have. It's hard to screw up.
thanks

Or learn to use the autopilot - set the desired height and heading using the dials then turn on autopilot and it will fly you level. If you want to go up or down you alter the altitude on the autopilot and set the v/s rate to either go up or down by a certain rate (for example +500 to go up or -500 to go down)
That is the basics
The smaller planes I've tried do not seem to follow the route of the flight plan I dont know why yet. They used to work in the old game I am sure. Now I have to keep setting my heading manually. No idea why. But then I am sure in the old game they all had a GPS autopilot setting that you could use to follow the route automatically. Most of these ones don't have that unless I am just not seeing it. Maybe they have changed the game to remove the GPS from the planes that don't have it in reality? No idea.
They need a simpler button bind for players like me who just have a regular yoke with no frills. Up, down across follow the route and land, ha.
NP's in MSFS 2020 after they got there AP lined out.
thanks for the info.
Edit: I'm in a flight right now, AP went to correct alt, The left is on GPS/ ROL I'm fling right on the route line with heading marker aslo in the same spot. It will not flip to GPS only.
I did get tracker to work. "So I got going that for me"
I would have got a refund last night if I could. But I spent over 2 hours just trying to figure out yoke settings.
The default 172 is all I've tried except for an 182 turbo they transferred from 2020. But the AP is much more difficult for me at times. So I went back to the 172 as that's an easy AP.
Is it Autopilot Master or is it Turn on Nav 1 AP or 1 of the other 10 options. I did watch a couple youtube control set-ups I haven't tried yet. sarc/
we'll see
