As for Steam? They’ve got nothing to do with the sim itself—they’re just the storefront. Unless the game literally doesn’t launch or comes with a free virus, Steam’s not getting involved.
Your best shot right now is to:
Clear your rolling cache
Temporarily move your Community folder somewhere else and see if that helps
And then wait for the next hotfix to hopefully undo whatever nonsense the last update caused
- Your connection speed may be one factor in how long it takes. This includes the connection speed between your computer and the internet, wired/wireless. Use a online tool to text your connection seed.
- Does your ISP throttle your internet after so much use? Many ISP have a cap on data usage and with MSFS 2024 being a streaming platform - it does not take long to reach your limit.
- Your hardware; Are you using old fashion spinning drives.
- Make sure all background task are shut down and if using a PC run in game mode.
-- If you are bold enough turn off your Antivirus when launching MSFS at least until you get everything loaded up. (not recommended - just a thought)
My load time is normally less than a minute.
my pc is way over to run this game/sim so i know its not me.
drivers and up to date windows 11 pro
pc
i9 12900K
64gb ddr5 ram
12tb m.2 drives. 3 4tb each
rtx4090
internet is cox 2gbps fiber line
This is why the game should NOT be run by servers.
If MSFS 2024 was all stored on your PC it would absolutely massive in size.
I feel the bugs in this game are not systemic or static for everyone. I suffer from no such thing as long load in. Not since day one have I had a long load in. I also don't suffer some of the plane bugs others do. I feel if it was a game problem..then EVERY single person that owns a copy of this game would suffer the exact same problem. I know no one want it to be them but in some cases it is them and not the game.
It is definitely not due to the speed of the Internet line and definitely not to the hardware. My colleague and I have the same problem. We both have high-end PCs and fast internet connections.
There is probably a massive problem with the servers at the moment.
Like my c*ck?
I have similar problems since the first MSFS 2024 update with nearly the same configuration. Neither complete Windows 11 re-installation (with no additions), nor any other settings helped (and I spent now 4 weekends with 16 hours).
Here is my configuration.
Windows 11 Pro
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF, 3200 MHz, 24 Kern(e), 32 logische(r) Prozessor(en)
Graphich: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
(RAM) 64,0 GB
Ethernet / Internet: 1000 MBit/s
What I have tried:
- New Router
- WLAN instead of Ethernet cable
- No add ons
- No additional content in community folder
- Old NVIDIA graphic driver (December)
- Several different configuration (e.g. low graphics, no voice, ....).
Any suggestions what else I could check?
