DLSS by itself also does anti-aliasing so you cannot use it with other AA techiques thats why you can either use regular AA techinques or DLSS but not both.
I'll try to explain it in more detail.
I mean, in the past, I remember many games I played 1080p and lines/edges, was always "blocky" It looked pixelated in a very weird moving way, where the lines were moving rays of pixels. As if a visible electricity was moving through the lines/edges.
And when you enabled anti-aliasing this would be reduced, but would also lower the fps.
Like how it looks when you zoom too much into a mandlebrot and the lines become series of square pixels instead of actual lines. Because it takes too long to calculate the infinitely increasing resolution.
That is how it was in the past. As I remember, nearly every game I know of. Now the resolution of most games being 2k or something, i have not experienced these jagged blocky pixelated rays of lines/edges in a long time. Most games I know of doesn't have it. Even old games like World of Warcraft, i see only smooth perfect straight lines or perfectly curved lines. perfectly shaped edges, like the shape of the edge of every single leaf on a tree has no pixelation on it at all. No moving pixels on lines/edges. Just perfectly straight lines.
In this game, MSFS 2024, and not MSFS 2020, These weird lines can be seen on the airport taxi paint lines. they become pixelated or jaggy. And it is also seen on the edges of the cockpit windshield. You see these moving blocky pixels like old games with disabled anti-aliasing. Also in external view, the edges around the entire aircraft, against the sky background, has these pixelated jaggy lines. There isn't a perfectly shaped aircraft in front of the sky. The shape of the aircraft has moving blocky square pixels on the edges. Visible blocks/squares of pixels moving about to define the edge of the aircraft.
I thought everyone would automatically understand what I ment. Used to be part of every game for as long as I can remember. Haven't seen it in a while tho, but now in this game for some reason.
I play 2k res, dont know the exact pixel count. 2560x1600 or something. 240hz. DLSS quality with frame generation. No dymanic fps. max fps. full 100 resolution. Ultra Settings. No v-sync. And I don't experience any desynced vertical lines. i mean specific any line curved or not in the game. Like edges or literally lines like on the taxi road.
I only downloaded 10 gb yesterday, very fast, and then I was instantly able to play the game after that. Maybe that has got something to do with it?
Not sure why all of the sudden now every thing is perfectly shaped. But holy crab this game looks beautiful. It already looked beautiful, now even more so.
