1. Check urgently that your system clock (in windows) is set absolutely correctly.
Sync it!

There are people for whom this has reduced the start of FS2024 from 25 minutes to 3 minutes (for me it is a little over 4 minutes).

This was only due to the fact that the time in Windows was set incorrectly!


2. All the download problems are caused by peering on the internet. Especially customers of Deutsche Telekom suffer from this.


In this case, you just have to enter an alternative DNS server, e.g. from Google or Cloudflare, in your PC's network adapter.


Please do not set this in the router!

Due to the DNS server, you will have more security checks like reCAPTCHA.


Therefore, it always makes sense to set the DNS server to automatic AFTER playing (so that you use the DNS server provided by your providers again).

Without an alternative DNS server, FS2024 is unplayable for me!

The download rates are between 14.5 KB/s - 300 KB/s in download (VDSL250 Deutsche Telekom)

With the DNS servers listed below: up to 26 MB/s.


You can test the following servers:

Google Public DNS:
8.8.8.8 (top)
8.8.4.4 (bottom)

BTW:
The Deutsche Telekom needs the traceroutes from the player to all the Microsoft servers to analyze the peering problem.

For me personally, I created batch files (placed on the desktop) according to instructions that I have to run as an admin to quickly switch between DNS servers and automatically.

3. DLSS Version:

I replaced the (very) old DLSS version (2.4.12.0) that comes with FS2024 with the latest 3.8.10.0 – but this caused my computer to crash for the first time ever (the PC shut down).

(was in Hong Kong)

Therefore, I would recommend going to a maximum of version 2.5.1 (which is still newer than that of FS2024), which still provided the best image quality at the time.

Or, it's best to stick with the original DLSS version that came with the game.

In the worst case, you could be banned from a multiplayer game for exchanging the DLSS file.

4. Delete the roaming folder:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\

Due to all the server problems, it is possible that files in this folder were downloaded damaged.

These are also never automatically repaired or redownloaded.
(does not work with the steam repair function).

Therefore, it can make perfect sense to delete this folder - before you plan a complete reinstallation of FS2024.

Even if you do a clean install, you will need to manually delete this folder - it will not be removed automatically.

You can quickly undo this with the DNS server.

BTW: there are also DNS servers that are specifically designed for security - but here we want the fastest ones to achieve better download rates (which I listed).

You can check your download rates by looking at the LAN/WLAN adapter in the task bar when you zoom in on the world map (you can just leave it open in FS2024) and see how high your current download rates are.

If you don't have any other issues with FS2024, you don't need to change anything.

The DNS advice helped me to fix my sim.

This is absolutely no joke, obviously there are people who do not have the correct time on their PC and the FS2024 reacts negatively to this, with an extremely long loading time.

VPN like NordVPN helps me a lot, now it's running with full speed like 400MBit/s on top, DNS default settings.
Before I had same issue with german telekom as provider and low speed without loading success.

I do the same thing for Netflix and suddenly no pixelation. These companies will throttle your bandwidth on certain DNS's even if your speed test shows the same.
