I don't understand the Time and Date function in Career Mode, can someone please explain?
Like I said in the title I don't understand the Time and Date slider in Career Mode. You unlock the slider when you do the Instrument Rating certification. And it seems simple at first, you just slide it left and right and it shows you the different times of day. But first of all the time is locked to your last position, right now when I'm looking at europe it says it's midninght, meanwhile in reality its 14 o'clock. The clock is set to Australia. But I still don't understand how it works, and what it does. All the missions have a time where you take off, no matter where your time slider is. For example it can be 11:15 or 8:08 (at the same time) But if you slide it around you notice that some missions get a red VFR dot, and if you hover over them then NOW it's the actual time you have currently set on the time slider. But if you move the time slider away a bit again, and hover over the SAME MISSION again, then suddenly it's showing a different random time again, which is not the same time as I have on my time slider.

Can someone please explain how it works?

Thank You very much for your help!

It doesn't change the time. Time is tied to your jobs. However, slider will change the real weather from the past 24 hours. It means, that you can choose to fly in IFR weather or VFR weather (if there's any weather change within 24 hours.) At first your missions offer only VFR weather, although there are some clouds too. But, after you unlock that slider, you might get IFR weather. I've got couple of "night missions" during winter outside of the career missions (not using my own aircraft), meaning that they were started before the Sun was up and I had to use proper lights. But most of the sightseeing jobs aren't during winter, and they're in the middle of the day (using my own aircraft.)

To be honest, I have no idea if it's a bug and should you being able to fly during real time and with real weather (or within past 24 hours), because lots of other things in this sim are "features" that make no sense and aren't explained at all anywhere (like how to unlock new career companies, which seems to be tied only to the amount of money you have?)

One good example of something that doesn't make any sense, is that at first you're offered missions with C172, but once you unlock +200hp aircraft, every single job so far is changed to De Havilland Beaver, even the ones that was first offering C172. Don't get me wrong, I love Beaver (despite it having a bug of not being able to remove the steering "wheel", and because of that not being able to change lights), but not while doing jobs like bringing aircraft to customers, flying some people for sightseeing, or hauling cargo because it takes ages. I would love to see other aircrafts as options too!
