How do insurances work in career mode?
it says price per flight-hour? Do they mean in-game?

For example if I play a mission which takes me 1 hour do I need to pay the asked base price for insurence?

I dont want to lose my new cessna to a bug again so im opting for the 2nd or even 3rd tier of insurance but I do not really understand how much it costs

I think it works this way, and anyone feel free to correct me because I myself still don't really know, this is just how I assume it works based off of how it sounds. I believe the game charges you a certain fee for every hour you fly your aircraft. I'm not sure if it counts time on the ground or not, but being in the air, every hour you are charged a set amount. These bills get applied to your company every 24 hours as a "Billing Period". Each insurance option has a different cost, coverage, and benefits. Currently I run the bare bones one on my cessna 172 because I feel like i'm not terrible at landings most of the time, so I don't think I need a bigger plan, but once I get bigger aircraft, I'll likely go with larger plans (i.e. If i get a 208B I think I'll get the mid range plan, and if I eventually get a 737, or an A320 or the likes, i'll likely get the largest plan.) Hope this helps!

Insurance is a VERY large cost in-game and is charged by flight hour. If your insurance is 11k/flight hour and you do a 2 hour mission (game time, not real time -- i.e., increasing the sim rate does not "shorten" the flight), you'll have a 22k bill.

Where it really stings is in the passive income. You'll get all excited by a message that you made 200k in passive income but then see your 2 crews flew for 16 hours and later get billed 176k in insurance. Still making a profit but much smaller than you first thought.

I don't know mine was all out of whack. I had 3 planes, one with the cheapest insurance and two with the middle one and I got hit with 60,000 plus in insurance bills yesterday, wiping out my credit balance down to zero.

I had to fly an employee mission just to earn enough money so that I could transfer my own plane to an airport with a freelance mission.
