Strange enough,.after some time suddenly everything is smooth enough.
And there are alot of airplanes as well on the airport.
Don,t know why , maybe this sim does really need 64Gb to run well..
Outside big airport everything is very smooth when i fly in VR without any fps problem.
The menu stays a mystery, since i always lose fps switching to the menu and back to the sim.
Maybe more ram is needed, i don,t know
You may want to share your system spec's. That would help determine some things.
W11, 7800X3D 32 Gb ram RTX3080 10gb and ssd .Quest 3.
Note that everything is smooth after some time..but going to the menu , will break fps
No fps problems outside busy airports.

1. Don’t go into menu while in VR, it will cause your mouse not to work, and shrink your display boxes into tiny little boxes. You can fix the mouse issue via going back and forth into menu until it comes back.
2. Go into VR mode before you enter the 3d world. Same things above happen if you switch to VR mode and out while in World.
3. I do max 2 flights in Vr. After this so I shut down and restart my system. (Running an Index)
4. You want to have frame rates be half of what your refresh rate for your head set. Example if you have 80 hz refresh rate you need to be pushing 40 FPS. And use your headset reprojection or FS2024s reprojection or whatever it’s called for your headset.
If you follow number 4 rules this will help you dial in the settings you need to set in game. When dialing in your settings, do it in free flight in a city you will be flying a lot around, for size. Some people with awesome system do this in cities like London. But if your not going to be flying in large cities, choose something more reasonable.
If you follow these steps you will have a more pleasant experience.
I found oiut myself now that if i trurn of airport traffic and standard MS online traffic that i got a very smooth fps now.
So i guess i just need a new videocart to handle th traffic.
Also no lag problems in the menu anymore.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that also, I don't fly with traffic either. Its a major FPS saver. No Multi, or AI.
Yes, no traffic did the trick on a busy airport like Schiphol.
I gues it would work better at the smaller airfields.
I also forgot that i use Virtual Destop on Ulra settings. And i can fly with TAA od DLSS.
For me on the quest II, if I just grab a touch controller and wake it, it fixes itself.
As for performance: It's running very well for me but does crash steamVR from time to time.
(i5 8700/32g/4070s/Win10)
Never have crashes iwth OpenXR.
I somehow have to press the middle mouse button to reactivate the VR Cursor since today.
However I had no more full cockpit freeze.
The one thing that is not fully working is the speed break levler.. that is always broken and you pull and try over and over and sometimes you manage to get it into arm position and sometimes you can only move it onto it's half position.
The rest is fine.. but that levler is a nightmare.
To answer the OP.. I observed no fps issues in VR when switching for and back to the menu butI use a 4090 and I am not very fps sensitive. 30 fps is fluid for me also in VR. Most ppl couldn't handle that I know.
