no but you do need to understand the concept behind those training. If you do even with a C or a B, you should be fine

Doing some of the training last night, and I think they are the exact or replicas of the exact same FS Academy that I paid about $100 for. At least the early Private Pilots license.

I never finished them up in 2020, I've been flight simming for decades and 20 years flight status in the military, but I do plan on learning IFR, approaches, all the instruments, etc, the stuff I just kind of "figure out" in the past, as I would like to really learn the stuff.

Kinda chafes my nads a bit thought that it appears that same expensive payware is now just free because they put a career mode in.

If they're not the same, my apologies, but now I kind of feel like the people who bought a lot of the payware aircraft that are now standard with 2024. I mean, nobody made us buy the stuff, and it's great I guess that everyone else gets a shot at them with price of the sim, but still....

I guess if I take the view that I now have those aircraft that I never paid for, it offsets that I paid for the FS Academy.

Basically one night at the movies anyway right :)

honestly i did not really play MSFS 2020 so i cannot compare, this is the one i have started on using xbox game pass PC & i do find it to be quite basic when it comes to the training section like there is no tutorial for the switches & there functions amongst everything else in the cockpit which i would like to learn in game appose to watching a youtube video it is just basically start engine with a button and everything is just in the correct position for the most part.
I cant also state about the payware aircraft as again i did not play 2020 so i cannot compare in that situation.
I am quite enjoying the career section thou i think that is what is making me play so much even with the bugs i have just learned about some other mods like VATSIM which i would also like to get into eventually as that does look quite fun.

You can learn a lot about the various switches by going through your checklists in the Electronic Flight Bag. It is enlightening to see just how much is involved in getting a Cesna 172 off the ground. I was aware of this because I have flown in real 172s. But things like magnetos, fuel switch settings, mixture, etc. are skipped in the sim normally. The good news is using the checklists, you can do all that stuff. You probably won't want to do it every time, but it IS worth doing it once.

You want to be as proficient as possible, because career mode is unforgiving. When you've got that cheap insurance and manage to crash your plane on landing somehow, better hope you have another plane to fly for a while to earn enough to fix the other one, or else you're back to being someone else's ♥♥♥♥♥ employee making scraps for a long time.

Specializations are categories of mission types.

No but I believe that it will give you more XP or Reputation per mission if you have an A
