-----------------
I was really excited about career mode, especially for when I play on the Xbox Series X. But after a week of playing it almost exclusively I am thinking I may need to take a break. Here are the reasons..
1. Extreme Wind/turbulence on landings - I did not really notice it on First Flight or Flightseeing missions, maybe a little on Cargo but now flying VIP Charter missions in my Cessna every landing is a nail biter. These missions I am taking are 1 star difficulty missions but I feel like I have 4 or 5 star difficulty wind issues during landing (often times on very narrow runways). I was well on my way to an S reputation on the early missions but have plummeted since starting Charters. These are 1 hour to 2 hour missions that can be derailed by these winds on landing.
2. Speaking of Plummeting - I just had a Charter flight where I did land (although it was ugly), managed to get a C rating and my reputation dropped a whole level. That seemed extreme for one C level successful mission. I started as an A rep and dropped almost to a C.
3. Skip to Takeoff bug - Multiple times when I skip to takeoff the game will put me in the hold short position and no matter how high I set the throttle the plane will not move. I always manually remove the chalks so unless skipping is putting the chalks back on (I have not checked) it is a mission stopping bug. This is a pain because I usually hate taxiing.
4. Cosmetic - I have purchased 3 Cessna 172s for my three companies. All of them are white from head to tail. No livery is applied. The name of my company is there but it is White on White
5. Passive income - I think I have this figured out but the mechanics of it are not explained at all. The passive income happens once every 24 hours. That is fine but the last time I got passive income from 2 planes my actual bankroll did not go up. I have the cheapest insurance on the Flightseeing plane and the middle option on the Cargo plane. Those should not eat up my entire passive profits.
6. ATC - Sometimes but not that often the button for ATC replies just will not register. Other times my responses and the ATC voice (and sometimes passenger voices) all overlap.
My preferred missions would be he Cargo and Charter missions but as mentioned above every charter mission so far has had scary landings. I was wanting to grind the Charter missions to get enough money to buy a multi-engine or Turboprop. But I am at risk on every single charter landing of crashing or damaging the plane to the point where it eats away at my profits and turns an hour or more of flight time into wasted time as far as progression is concerned.
aircraft systems stop working during the mission resulting in crashing the plane, running into stuff on the ground damaging the plane
input lag resulting in great difficulty controlling the aircraft
terrible shaking jolting sputtering shifting of the aircraft during flight making it almost impossible to control resulting in frequent bad landings that otherwise would should be possible to manage
Thanks! Seems like this has been a rough release, I'm starting to wonder if their QA team was sleeping on the job or they just wanted us to Beta test it for them...
So I wasn't crazy on some of these... awesome *facepalm*
- the path you're supposed to follow during taxi often doesn't make sense. it also sometimes makes you cross runways resulting in a penalty for bad procedure and there's nothing you can do about it, no freedom to take a more logical path without being penalized
+ sometimes the button to communicate with ATC doesn't work resulting in another penalty
+ frequent warnings for flying over an airport without announcing it, yet there's no way to announce and sometimes there isn't even an airport nearby
everything about it is just so clumsy and glitchy
- fuel load in the plane doesn't match with the amount i fueled up in the menu. always seems to spawn with the same amount of fuel which is sometimes less than what i want or need
- plane maintanance is bugged, all parts indicate good or new, still sais 'to maintain' but both the 'check condition' and 'maintain' buttons are greyed out. this first happened with an Xcub i bought right after i bought it so i sold it again, now it's happening with the starter C172 as well
- and a minor thing, airplane textures never load anymore, it's all white
- no way to check the weather before the flight. no way to change runways without a penalty for 'landing in an unauthorized spot', and forget about diverting to an alternate airport. if you don't want your score and pay to suffer you WILL risk the life of your passengers by landing your C172 with a 40kn crosswind
the world feels completely empty too, why is there no online traffic in career mode? seeing other players going about doing their thing, like when using 3rd party career addons for FS20 add so much to the immersion, and i guess it should be possible so why isn't this an option?
not very impressed with the state of crareer mode at this moment
Game crashes to the desktop then when i restart the game I lose reputation.
Like hours of Grinding gone.
ty. fyi Neofly has been updated to work with msfs24, haven't spent much time on it yet but so far all good
Like hours of Grinding gone. - same
ATC - Sometimes but not that often the button for ATC replies just will not register. Other times my responses and the ATC voice (and sometimes passenger voices) all overlap. - same
- same, however, after managing to get one plane in the air that had hard time moving, it also didn't register airspeed. I then noticed remove b4 flight pieces still attached. So skipping to engine startup is bugged and have to manually pre-flight.
4. Several aircraft doc points for extending flaps even when your on the ground.
5. You get docked points for not using landing lights during a day mission because your 'UTC' time is at night while the sun is actually still out.
6. no airport lights are visible during days with limited visibility
7. in VR, mouse sometimes becomes unable to interact with cockpit instruments
8. no way to check the weather before the flight. no way to change runways without a penalty for 'landing in an unauthorized spot', and forget about diverting to an alternate airport. if you don't want your score and pay to suffer you WILL risk the life of your passengers by landing your C172 with a 40kn crosswind. - I noticed this too, my vip charter went from snowing and almost no visibility, to clear skies, to overcast with really nasty crosswind for landing on a tiny strip. I guess that's 2 star difficulty. Wonder what 5 star is.
too many other bugs to list, but these were the most annoying for me.
I encounter these problems also mentioned above.
but also,
During career missions I encounter turbulence or other I do not know, my plane makes left right from takeoff to landing, front or rear wind, left or right it's the same
