What Year Are Bing Map That's Being Used in 2024 ( like map from 2018 or 2019 ) ?

Hey Dev,

What map version are you using for MS Flight Simulator 2024. I bought MS Flight Simulator 2020 and my house was not shown, it was already built by 2021.

So I figure that MS Flight Simulator 2024 would at least have the latest Bing Map but nope, my house is still not shown, so I am suspecting that you are still using the same Bing Map from 2018 or 2019?

I guess, what I am asking is when can we expect to get the latest Bing map data for MS Flight Simulator 2024 since you are now streaming the map data from the cloud.

I tried it last year, it is damn good looking but was somehow not optimised my my connectivity, so lagging every x seconds and such so I stopped, but when it worked it was great.

2020 has the excellent map enhancement upgrade mod which gives the player many choices of currently updated maps and my home is represented accurately. Just another reason , among many why MSFS 2024 is a failure.

Might be worth looking into again now, it now uses the default bing map data when it's not enabled, you can also select Google maps ( free ) or Google maps ( Pro ) which is a paid upgrade that allows far greater resolutions per "tile" of the map.

You can also now select Bing maps on it but it's not the default bing maps, it loads newer bing map data so it's more recent, And there's a couple more different map connections of other world maps you can use, also a pro feature.

So far I've been using Google ( free ) and it's been fine, a little low res when flying quite low but it does the job.

I might try the newer bing maps and see how that looks in comparison to vanilla.

It's called MSFS 2020 Map Enhancement.

Don't let the name fool you though, it now supports 2020 and 2024. :)

I have installed it but have not had the chance to try it out yet. Currently have it on Google Maps Free. Most likely will try Bing Maps at some point to see the difference between Asobo's Bing and actual Bing.

Launch the mod first ( it's an exe with its own GUI )

For best results, set up a rolling cache for it in the same location where the ingame rolling cache saves to.

You also have the option on the GUI for it to automatically load MSFS for you when you connect to the Google maps or the bing maps that are on the mod.
