I have the same issues. They are turned off in the settings but still show in-game.

The G1000 is still loaded with the navigation data. Follow the magenta information. Along the top it will give you the next waypoint and bearing. If you’re flying something without it, you’ll have to actually navigate.
Bind a key for it. As someone mentioned it is bound to left stick press on a Xbox controller.
You can toggle the navigation assists on or off by mapping a key to "Toggle Visual Assistances Display". We posted more details about this on our official forums here:

Ok to have that option. But you should also allow us to turn it off in the settings, for those of us that do not want to use a "control bind" on something we would never us.
