MSFS 2024 Is an Absolute Disaster - What Were They Thinking?!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is garbage right now. This isn’t just turbulence—it’s a full-blown crash landing. I’ve been a die-hard fan for years, but this launch feels like a slap in the face. Here’s why this is completely unacceptable:

1. HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE: My high-end rig, which runs everything else flawlessly, turns into a toaster with MSFS 2024. Frame drops, constant stuttering, and ridiculous load times. Did they even test this game before launch, or are we all beta testers now?

2. BUGS GALORE: Controls disconnect mid-flight, menus freeze, and planes handle like they’re possessed. This isn’t a simulator—it’s a joke. I paid to fly, not wrestle with a broken mess every time I boot up.

3. ONLINE IS A NIGHTMARE: Multiplayer? More like disconnect simulator. Constant server drops, lag, and broken matchmaking. How can a game this dependent on online features get this wrong?

4. GREEDY CASH GRAB: $70 for the base game, and you want us to fork over even more for DLCs at launch? Are you kidding me? It’s like they’re saying, “Here’s a broken product, but hey, give us more money for stuff that should’ve been included.”

5. DEAFENING SILENCE FROM DEVS: Where is the communication? Where are the updates? The players deserve answers, not radio silence while the game burns.

Microsoft, you had one job—to build on the success of MSFS 2020. Instead, you gave us this dumpster fire of a launch. If I wanted frustration and disappointment, I’d reinstall Cyberpunk 2077 at launch.

Anyone else feel like they’ve been completely ripped off? This game needs fixing NOW.

You need to look on the right-hand side of the steam forum pages where the sub menus are. There is a Sub called, 'News'. The Devs are posting daily updates.

Hello Shrootfarms,

Here's the same reply I posted in your previous topic about this which you deleted:

"DEAFENING SILENCE FROM DEVS: Where is the communication? Where are the updates? The players deserve answers, not radio silence while the game burns."

Our team has been reading all the comments and responding to as many as we can here on the Steam forums but also on our official forums and many other social platforms. We have provided regular status updates every day since launch, including a video message from Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann and Asobo CEO Sebastian Wloch. You can find these announcements here:

Thanks,

Hey SeedyL,

Here's the response I gave, which you never replied to:

The "update" section you refer to do not contain genuine updates. They are corpo-CEO babble which provides no timeline for fixes or a roadmap.

Thanks,
Someone who won't be scammed

If it bothers you so much, refund it and move on. The devs are working on the game which is why they aren't on here replying to every gripe everyone has 24/7.

I got my refund, but I'll also voice my complaints. This isn't your personal echo chamber. Thanks for your suggestion though!

I was excited for MSFS2024. watching their announcements and streams really sold me on the tech they implemented and all the features. I was going to be happy buying the Premium edition.

Right now, i'm disappointed. I'm glad i tested it out on gamepass to get an idea of it before buying. The cloud streaming is an annoyance - i can't help but notice the super low textures and then them being updated. The performance is awful for GPU now and very stuttery even when at 60fps.

I have Tobii eyetracker and all the marketing highlighted native support (which makes sense since it was in 2020) but the only way to get it to work is via Opentrack and trying to configure the settings ingame causes a CTD.

Setting up HOTAS was annoying as i can't tweak the curves. i can see the curves in the hardware settings but my input does not show on the graph.

I won't be touching this for awhile and will stick to 2020. I can't see much reason to buy this in this state especially.

I really like it. Your "high end rig" will make no difference with this sim as its streamed. My "rig" is getting on a little bit and performance on high end has been flawless averaging 90fps. Not one disconnect, not one crash. I left playing until today due to the admittedly poor launch, but now its been great. Plowing through career mode.

If you are having issues, then its down to these things most likely
1. You have a poor internet connection, this is super important in a streamed game.
2. You're on wifi and your connection isn't great. Again super important.
3. You are unlucky with servers in your area. Im in the UK and its been fabulous today.

Your points 1-3 i feel are likely all issues on your end. All i would say is if you aren't interested in career mode, then there's not enough differences to warrant the switch from FS2020.

Have you checked while playing just how much bandwith gets used whilst streaming the scenery, if it borders on 50mbps then that rules a lot of people out from playing.

I do have a gigabit ethernet connection in Ireland. Poor texture streaming could be due to servers-side issues. It's no where near as bad as some users i've seen but it does ruin the immersion a bit for me.

Please remove that trash from Cloud , it's the worst thing there can be. It makes the simulator useless. It consumes too many megabytes, it is slow, clumsy. If they want many users to return (those of us who asked for a refund) they have to remove that exaggerated streaming and do it well as in MSFS2020
Shrootfarms Nov 23, 2024 @ 5:11pm
Everyone refund it while you still can!

What is the issue for most, you getting the speed of the slowest link between your PC, and the Data centre where its streamed from, and this is often out of the hand of customer and in some cases even MS..

Yet, the issue is, the game relies way too much on streaming, and i know from experience as someone who worked in the Telecom and installed internet at peoples homes and solved a lot problems from customers on poor internet speed issues, that i know how many issues there can be when there is a high volume of traffic on a consumer line, regardless how fancy subscription a customer might has with their provider, i could write a essay on head scratching issues i have encountered over the years.
Therefor i never would have chosen for a fully streamed game, just too many uncertainties for delivering a guaranteed good gaming experience if you ask me.

Its a case imho if you are lucky it works, then it works for you YAH... have fun..
If not, its a can of misery, might even never work well for some people..

Why would I contribute to your excessive complaining when I am too busy enjoying the sim?
