Yes. A large portion of your payout comes in the form of No Skip bonuses.
I did a freight job with my own plane and here was the breakdown of my payment
Base Income = 26,810 credits
Reputation Bonus = 6,860 credits
No Skip Bonus = 41,750 Credits
Bad Weather Bonus =17,770
Total 93,190 credits of which 45% was my No Skip bonus
Not if they continue to liberally use the skip and miss out on the bonuses. I don't think it is worth skipping on First Flights or Flightseeing. It just does not save much time as I assume you still have to take the time to circle around the area and most are only a few miles away.
For longer flights it may be worth considering. My example above was a 100 plus mile flight in a 172. It took a while. Skipping to descent would have lost me a ton of money but the time saved by doing so might balance it out.
Right, I also got that much for them and I also did all of the flying, sometimes skipping taxiing to the parking area at the end. I think the issue here is skipping the flying parts. YOu can skip even the short flight between POIs in Flightseeing missions. That will take away a chunk of the bonus.
You are right about skipping when they are doing the Employee missions as then they need to get as much money as possible. But once you get the company, skipping isnt as big of an issue. Though I can only speak about the first flight missions as I have yet to unlock the other companies. Maybe with the long flights skipping the flight itself will cost a lot. But on the short first flight mission, if I remember right not skipping only gives you extra 2k?
It all seems to be a trade off decision. The longer the duration the more payout you get. I don't think any of the early jobs you can get have a significant advantage or disadvantage. Do whichever is the most fun for you.
For example a Cargo mission may pay out twice as much as a Flightseeing mission but will likely also take you twice as long.
Unless or until a cheat or mod appears then it's meant to be a bit of a grind.
I'd go back and check myself but I don't want to do another Flightseeing mission anytime soon if I can help it. Did a ton of those to earn enough to buy the Cargo Company.
That way you don't lose the bonuses for skipping.
