I mean you see which ones are conflicting...you delete it AND map it somewhere else. Thats how I would do it. But okay...you do you I guess. ;) Just tried to help.
I'm not sure where to bind them though that's the trouble, there is six on the list, binding them somewhere else will only conflict with another and so on. I could delete them all and start from scratch but I haven't got the patience right now lol.
I appreciate your help, just a little frustrated with it to be honest. We shouldn't have to go through all this, should be set up from the start. i can understand changing one or two but Six conflicting, na.
Yep its a bit frustrating currently. But once again, all you need to map to fly a helicopter is following:
- collective axis (up and down)
- cycling lateral/longitudinal axis (pitching forward/backward and sidewards with main rotor)
- rudder axis
- trim for rotor (up/down/left/right) - can be reseted with "O"
Thats basically it. Everything else you can map on the fly when you need it or feel for it.
Finally just make sure you have all three assistances for helicopters on. (under settings -> assistances)
To try to nail down my settings I started a free flight (all assistances are off). I immediately noticed when I'd start to take off in a heli it would start to flip backward with no presser. My trim SHOULD have made it go forward a small bit.
Fast forward a little. I start a free flight in mid air not touching anything. My helicopter spawns and starts to fly forward in a loop, but otherwise it's relatively smooth and level. The only weird thing is the torque occasionally changes directions, which it shouldn't be doing with no trim and me not messing with it at all. I touch the joystick (cyclic) just a smidge to throw some anti torque on and it instantly flips back and to the side. Not in a "You're going to notice it pulling" way, but in a "after a gentle 1/2 degree turn to compensate, really just pressure rather than actually turning, I'm instantly flipped about 90 degrees up and canted to one side (that varies) roughly 30 to 40 degrees. At this point it just goes crazy even when I take my hand away.
In my Cessna I've experienced something similar with my trim being about 15% after takeoff without me touching it. The second I touch that dial it sometimes drops to -30%. Very random.
Anyway, I bring that up because it feels like there's some kind of "phantom trim" on the helicopters when using joysticks that isn't always present.
In free flight. But in training or in missions it's not possible to control. The flight model is broken.
Yeah it's broken alright.
In irl you have to trim a lot more for the plane to do something, in the game you trim 2, 3 times and the plane starts to change its flying course, altitude, etc. Happy flying.
The game's physics and flight models are actually bugged. Real life helicopters don't react anything like the ones in this game.
The instability of a real helicopter is completely exaggerated on this forum, to the point where you make me laugh. They are different than a plane, but not any more difficult.
there are a lot of brainwashed fanboys here that would love a dog turd if microsoft sold it to them.
This is how responsive an Astar is. Now, if you don't know, the Astar is world famous for having one of the most sensitive and responsive cyclic in the world. So look how much you have to jam that cyclic around to rock her just a little bit. This game is completely broken. In real life even the Astar is easy to fly compared to this game.
