Haven't tried it yet in fs2024, but if it's your first time trying a heli, and you're on full realism... yes, it really is that hard.
I had a real-life heli pilot buddy who used to say that flying a helicopter is like trying to balance two balls on one another. Seems about right.
Having said that, maybe the sensitivity is too high on your controller?
But it's kinda hard to get past that point if the assists would turn off during training. Then I wont be able to get that license.
Maybe I'll have to check the sensitivity of my controller, but you would think that those settings should be OK from the get go.
If 1/2 mm, which is roughly the thickness of a human hair, is too much you probably have issues with your controller. Yes, even if you don't have problems with any other game.
I use an X-56 and there's a tiny bit of play between when you start putting pressure to move and when it actually hits the spring to move. It's roughly 1/2 a CENTImeter at the base and it works just fine for me.
When you have the "heli assistant systems" on (its three), than these one or two tutorials are the only ones where you have to fight against the torque (and yeah...this was hard af). However everything else works super smooth (with assistance).
This way you limit the range of your control-output. It's like you could move the joystick only half the way of whats normal. In dynamic situations you want the full range, reducing the range of outputs, also drastically reduces the authority on this axis. Good luck in dynamic situations...
