VR performance
I would like to know how’s the performance for Vr in 2024 edition?
Compare to 2020, is it better or worst?
Thanks a lot!

for me performance is way way better. in 2020 i could not play vr with graphic settings on low realy. in 2024 i have them on high and ultra and have stable 72fps for vr.
May I know your specs?
And where you fly to get that fps?
Thanks a lot!

For me the VR is working great (4080 gpu), visuals are great, most settings on ultra, the ability to get out and walk around is a standout feature in VR and the main reason i got the game. Flying itself feels about the same, but to get out and see the water effects (some of the best in VR i think) and the trees/grass swaying in the wind, is a real game changer... this will be esp so if they allow downloadable content like in 2020... hopefully at some point...

4080 GPU, 16gig ram, 10700 I7 processor, all I've done is put a new gpu in and a much bigger cooling fan, seems to do the trick

Depends a lot on the aircraft. i.e. TBM is not good at present

2020 was a VR crashfest. had lots of issues. 2024 has been smooth and beautiful Displays are readable, in DLSS auto its smooth and flyable. I am having ZERO issues i used to have. there are UI issues, the EFB is not usable, the menus sometimes done respond to the controler you are holding, but these are bugs. they will get better. I am loving it with Virtual desktop. Meta app is hot garbage.

It's almost unplayable in VR. The 2020 version was beautiful. With my lower mid-range PC it ran smooth with graphics cranked up. But the 2024 version will just crash unless everything is set to low and you're flying in an empty ocean or desert with no textures to load. In its current state it is safe to say MSFS 2024 is not compatible with VR.

Just tried my first VR flight (G2, 4080 Super, 7800x3d, 64Gb) using the ultralight thing at a small grass airstrip.
Sat in it and started cycling all the controls to make sure they were working before starting the engine and the game CTD before I even finished doing that.

VR can be a bit choppy landing. so you need to dial down the settings. I learned this the hard way flying into KORD lol. bouncing up and down and around single digit framerates, yet didnt crash. lol

Took a couple days to get the settings and controls dialed in.

-It runs light years better than 2020
-Relatively buttery smooth flying low in an L-39 just above the trees in the mountains of the PNW. (Beloved L-39 feels like a UFO but looks stunning)
-I can even sim speed to the max autopilot allowed acceleration (don't look around too much/although with my system, it is smooth one notch down from max)
-didn't have to compromise too much on the new visuals (fauna, new trees, ect. are present and look good)
-I can actually read the instruments, without them being a blurry mess (like in 2020)

specs:

i7 8700
32g ddr4 3200
1TB NVME
4070 super
WIN 10 + Quest II + Virtual Desktop (for the quest) +Steam VR w\SteamVR (i think) as the default VR runtime

(kinda ageing system)

TLDR = It runs great in VR but will require a lot of tweaking if your system is like mine.
