My mouse icon was not appearing. Move your mouse around until it highlights the button then click it and login with your microsoft account.

Figured it out, you need to use your keyboard (tab) to interact with menu, as for some reason, mouse is not rendered:))

This has long been an issue

And yes, you have to have an XBOX account. Just do it, and get the Xbox Game App and Xbox Game Bar

The same happend to me but it turned out that my mouse cursor was invisible! (still is during installation!) . Navigate it with the Tab key and space! You also actually need an account - same goes for the MS Flight Sim 2020.
