Just want to know if t has a Cargo Pilot career mode like the mod from long ago
I use to play a cargo pilot mod with FS years ago. And the idea was to start with limited money and have to spend it on planes and fuel..etc. Then make enough to buy larger planes and even ai pilots until you might have a whole fleet. Is something like that going to be in this version?

I did read the FS 24 description which mentions missions of that type, but I'm more wondering about a career business path.

Based on information coming out from the technical Alpha with limited features, the career looks to be predominantly about earning credits to pay for license exams to unlock new mission types that will be assigned to you. I don’t think it will be a business/logistics management simulator.

Whatever the career mode turns out to be, I'm sure third-party developers will top it. I've been playing the excellent NeoFly 4 in MSFS 2020, and I anticipate a version a NeoFly will be released for the new sim as well.

That's good to hear that someone may fill in that feature. It's something that would keep me on FS and I like having goals to RP.

I'd expect modders ant third party app makers to enhance on what we'll get in 2024, as others say.

From the short time I've spent in game i can see that quite a few mods/apps will essentially be redundant due to the inbuilt upcoming systems/mechanics. so some might fall by the wayside, but hopefully they'll alter their app/mod to update the new stuff.

it looks like there'll be plenty to do in 2024 compared to 2020.

NeoFly? I've not heard of that one. I'll have to check it out.

I've been using OnAir VA Manager for a couple years now and really enjoy it. I used to fly on FS Economy all the time, but recently found OnAir's extra depth a bit more enjoyable.

Basic NeoFly is free but there are some paid upgrades that advance it to a more business-oriented application. I have the Pilots upgrade, which lets me assign aircraft, cargo and jobs to AI pilots I have hired and let them bring in revenue for in-game expenses. Sometimes I just spend an evening sending my pilots out on routes while I do real world things. Fuel and maintenance are expenses, as are insurance, rental fees, and daily wages. There is also some market speculation if you enjoy investing in commodities to sell. There is also an Airlines upgrade which lets you create hubs and warehouses, and hire managers to run operations.

Yep, just looked it up. Can't believe I hadn't heard of it till now. I like OnAir's Industries feature, which lets you build up Basecamps (bush airports) to produce raw resources, and then build factories at airports to produce goods to sell on the market. It also has AI pilots (depending on server) and attendants, as well as the ability to build your own FBOs and hire mechanics to maintain your aircraft. You also can build fuel tanks and buy fuel wholesale to save on your flights.

The only problem I have with OnAir is the ongoing subscription model (and it's slower than molasses at times, and a bit unstable). It's not exorbitantly priced, but I'm sick of the modern subscription market economy. Am I right in understanding NF is a one-time purchase (for the upgraded options)? I'm considering the complete bundle. Just hesitant with the new sim on the horizon and the possibility of having to buy it again in a couple months time.

Yup one time only!

If you watch this 2024 presentation you will see there is an "Industrial Cargo Transport" career, he doesn't specifically mention it but you can see it on the list at 35:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp4a3hPwP4s&t=2123s

They also list "Remote Cargo Ops"

Air Hauler 2 is the best add-on I have found. They'll probably be a AH3 for 2024. You can haul freight and build a company. You can haul Passengers (Pax's). You can build a Factory and make parts to sell or trade. You can find parts and build airplanes, and more.

It's made by a pilot and they have a good webpage. You can purchase on Just Flight. He's been making the game since MS9 I believe.

I personally prefer Neofly, been using it for years now.
Thorstorm 2024년 10월 20일 오후 11시 21분
You can literally build a company in career mode (the option was in Alpha but not available)

And then do cargo transport flights, you have light, medium and heavy.

Neofly and all these apps (which most are overpriced spreadsheets imo) will become obsolete except for boomers.

I'm not sure if they'll become obsolete but I bet they do and sidemove and expand on what will become available in 2024.

don't forget, not everyone will buy and fly 2024, so, for them, neofly etc will still be useful.

I think it will come down to the portfolio of features Asobo will offer in their career mode. One thing I like about NeoFly is it expands to incorporate third-party aircraft including freeware and non-marketplace commercial mods for the Asobo aircraft.
